Chocolate Apples

There's no reason you have to give up nostalgic holiday treats just because you've made a commitment to eat healthy. These delicious apples are made with heart smart dark chocolate and Enova oil. Keep the nuts and novelties to a minimum if you're watching calories.

Tip: If you're not inclined to work quickly or if you're preparing these with small children, do a few apples at a time because the nuts and novelties won't stick to the chocolate once its dried.

Makes 2 dozen lunchbox size chocolate drizzled apples

Ingredients

For topping
2 dozen lunch box size apples
2 dozen popsicle sticks
6 ounces of chopped bittersweet chocolate or 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
6 ounces chopped white chocolate or 1 cup white chocolate chips
2 tablespoons Enova oil
Assorted nuts and novelties to roll apples in such as pecan pieces, coconut, sprinkles, mini m&m's etc...

Pierce apples with popsicle sticks and place on cookie sheets lined with parchment or silpat. Set aside.
Place dark chocolate and 1 Tablespoon of Enova oil in microwave safe bowl and cook on medium until chocolate is melted, about 2 minutes.
Place white chocolate and 1 Tablespoon of Enova oil in microwave safe bowl and cook on medium until chocolate is melted, about 2 minutes.
Working quickly, dip a fork into dark chocolate and drizzle over entire tray of apples until apples are well coated. Do the same with the white chocolate.
Sprinkle or roll apples into nuts and novelties. Serve immediately if you can't wait an hour for them to set up.
