Hi everyone. I just wanted to come on and share with you all that i am now ENGAGED!!! My boyfriend (i guess he's my fiance now) and I are in a unique situation because he is originally from the netherlands. We have mutually come to the realization that we want to be married Smiler Now we just have to sort out visa stuff. Our visa application arrived last friday at the US government service center in vermont, so they should be working on it soon! Never realized how much red tape you have to go through to legally marry someone from another country. We had to send all sorts of proof that we have had an ongoing real relationship (photos, emails, phone bills, airline tickets, etc!!)

the worst part of this whole experience is he isn't allowed in the country during the visa processing Frowner But we just made plans to visit each other in january in toronto. thank god for canada! if all goes well, i am hoping this process will be over within 3-4 months. Wish us luck and thanks for reading!!

Just wanted to thank everyone quickly for all the well wishing! I'm very excited. I feel much better about the process now that we are going to meet up in Toronto for a visit next month. Soooo frustrating. I keep checking the mailbox every 5 minutes! I'll keep everyone posted on our visa progress.

Thanks again guys Big Grin

I hope the red tape is sorted through easily.
