I have heard from multiple coworkers that the polls where they live were lined up around the block early this a.m. (VA polls open at 6 a.m.) so I decided I'd go mid-morning and hopefully beat the rush. I left my office almost 10:15 a.m., got to the polling place and voted, and was back at the office by 11 a.m. Not bad!
It was more disorganized than it needed to be, thanks to election officials not knowing how to manage a line that long but, otherwise, it moved along well and I'm glad to have voted and be done!
Please get out and vote!

I have no idea. They people at the elections office were extremely cranky and unhelpful. I understand they're probably pretty stressed right about now, but still. I hate to sound all doom and gloom, but being a dem in AZ is nearly a lost cause.

I waited about an hour. It would have been less, but all the retirees in my area felt the need to be a the polling place at 6:30am (they didn't open until 7am). I wish they would wait until those of us who work get through and then come a little later - mid-day! Many of us were late for work becuase of the long lines. I work too late and to far from home to go after work. I guess that's the penalty for living in a largely retirement community! UGH.

Well, like I said my dh and I voted by absentee, but a friend of mine was waiting for her dh to come home so that she could go and vote, but he had to work late, so she called me and asked if I could watch her children while she went and voted. She was gone from my house for only 20 minutes!!! She said that there were only 3 people in line before her and she got there right before 5pm
Blessings,

LOL, I have loved reading about the "lines" that you guys have had. We vote in the kitchen of a VERY small country church about 2 miles down the road. DH & I (& DS) went together this morning about 8:00. I think 2 more people came in while we were voting. If we hadn't stood around and talked for a while (you can always catch up on families and community gossip during voting time ) we could have been in & out in no time. DS always has a good time "voting" because he always gets doted on by the older ladies and always gets a lolipop.
I voted by absentee ballot. We have always gone to the polling places, and taken our children and let them watch us vote, but this year we decided to do it at home. We made it a family event, we discussed all of the issues on the ballot, the pros and cons of all of the amendments, as well as the pros and cons of the candidates. Watching our children grow, and form their own opinion on things is really interesting. my eldest daughter was really torn on how she would votefor some of the issues (and she thought it was funny that Daddy and I voted differently on an amendment), and finally decided that she was glad she's not old enough to vote yet!
Blessings,
Lori

I voted!! Polls here opened at 7. I went at 8 and waited an hour and a half. They handed out amendment fliers and it gave me time to re read it all. It was also nice talking with neighbors that I don't see often.

The polling place for the next precinct over had a wait of 2 hrs at 10 AM when we went, but we walked right into ours, voted (I took a cheat sheet, since there were some pretty important issues up on the FL ballot), and got a sticker!

Thankfully, we live in an early voting state, so we got the deed done about two weeks ago. AND we got to vote with Sen. Tom Daschle and his family. What a treat! Just thought I'd name drop --- my life is so boring.
I hear that in SD the wait can be an hour, so yes, I am thankful we did vote early.

Ulgh, yesterday I called the board of elections to find out my polling place. But I'm not on the rolls. Apparently I registered two days too late. I'm so bummed.
