This one is going to take a little more effort, so I am posting it early for those who work and have lives -- definitely NOT me.

We have had much discussion this week on organization. Let's look at that for today and tomorrow.

I particularly want to talk about pantry items.
As I said in another thread, I do have an inventory list of the things in my pantry. I typed it up from the things that were in my pantry at one point and left room for others.
Each month I take an inventory of what we have, and what we have used in the last month. I check my recipes for the next two weeks and see if there are additional items we might need. I am lucky enough to have two pantries, one is a closet and the other just a standing cupboard. But both get inventoried at the end of each month. I do the freezer, too, as I do store additional meals down there dated and ready to use. In this way, I can make a tentative (very tentative) menu plan for the month or whatever works with our schedule that week. I know what to buy, when to buy it, if it's perishable, and don't waste my valuable food dollars. We won't starve here, we are too much pack rats i the food department. WE very rarely buy frozen meals, it's too easy and better for us to make up our own. We do buy in bulk when things are on sale, but, never more that we have room for.

That's my pantry. There are other things that need to be organized to make life and health go together better.

For example, if you go to the gym, do you pack your bag with everything the night before? If you exercise at home, is everything in the same place? Ready to be used? I have an area in my house that is strictly for me to sit and veg or medidate, so big deal, just a small area away from the maddening crowd. I have all the things there that I will need in a bag to use; not spread all over the house.

Your homework is to pick two areas that are not organized...and do so in the next week. Tell us what you have done and how it has helped you in this journey.

Have a good week.
Cathy

It's nice to open up the door and be able to find everything quickly and easily and to know what I have in there!

Our fridge is looking a little gross. I put a good clean on the list for the weekend. I love a clean- really clean- fridge.

DH and I just went through and redid the pantry a couple of weeks ago, then I did the freezer.

I clean out the fridge every Tues, since Wednesday is garbage day.

I typically pack my gym bag the night before. Lunch I do in the a.m. If it is leftovers, that I put into serving size dishes the night before, but if it is a sandwich, I do it in the a.m. (don't like bread refrigerated.)

Since I just did my pantry and freezer, don't really have anything that needs to be organized right now.

I just did half of this this weekend, pretty much out of desperation. I tackled my kitchen drawers. I bought a bunch of plastic drawer organizers and tackled the silverware/kitchen utensil drawer, another kitchen utensil drawer, the square/rectangular lids drawer, the round/oval lids drawer, and my mixer, potholder, and trivet drawer. What a difference this makes!!!!!

My pantry is already organized thanks to Flylady, and I intend to tackle the kitchen towel cupboard next. That one will be interesting.

I also have a space with all my "necessities" for my morning quiet time: Bibles, journal, devotionals, and many books that I find either inspiring or use for reference. Every morning (except Sundays and the occasional screwed up schedule day) I sit down and spend at least 1/2 hour there before I do anything else. It usually is part of what I consider a necessity to survive my day. (Especially when I'm in the midst of a really stressful situation.)

Cathy, please take good care of yourself. You have really come up with some good homeworks and you will survive this grieving period. I know it's just hard to see right now. {{{{hugs}}}}
