SO important. I have had 4 aunts with breast cancer, 2 of which have died. I have another aunt, that was talking about how she didn't want to have a mammogram because it hurts. I was a young teenager at the time and had seen my aunt (other side of the family) die from breast cancer that had matastocised (sp?) to the bone, and then watched about every bone in her body break before the cancer finally hit an internal organ and she died. Anyway, when she was talking about mammograms hurting I looked at her and said "Cancer hurts a lot more." Dawn

My doc tells me they have found cancer in girls ( guys) as young as 13 --- as long as you're having "the talk" why not include this one. My GF took her daughter along to her mammogram at the age of 16....the daughter didn't have one then, but at least she didn't go in without any knowledge when the time did come. It's never too late to start.
It's never too late to get it right.
