I'm not posting on the other board anyone - so I'm moving my smoothie thread over here. I tried another one today and didn't like it as much as yesterdays.
1/2 box soft silken tofu 3 bananas 1-1.5 cups frozen strawberries 2 T OJ concentrate 2 t sugar rice milk
This made two full glasses - I shared with Sven. I thought I would totally dig the tofu - but it made it very thick - it didn't taste fresh anymore. I think that yesterday's sorbet made a nice base - but thats a little too calorie-dense to add very much.

I LOVE smoothies, and just about anything goes around here! I like to combine different fruits, juices, yogurt/tofu, different milks (rice, soy, dairy, almond).
I also grind up flax seeds or almonds (before adding anything else) in my smooties, for added nutritional benefit.
Some things that I keep on hand ALL the time are frozen strawberries, frozen bananas, frozen mango, frozen blueberries. I don't use ice cubes, but frozen fruits instead. I don't like my smoothies to get watery (which I have found they do if I use ice).
Blessings,
Lori

My favorite one is pretty simple. . .frozen banana slices, frozen peach chunks (just from the freezer section of the grocery store, fresh ones don't last long enough around me to warrant freezing), peach low-fat/sugar-free yogurt, and a squeeze of honey. My grocery store also carries an "almond" yogurt that's darn tasty in this, too.
I fully admit to preferring something I have to eat with a spoon than sip through a straw, though.
Frozen raspberries are delicious (to me), too, and since I'm allergic to strawberries (and orange juice), I find myself substituting raspberries for strawberries when I find a smoothie recipe that sounds good.
For more ideas, give Smoothie King's website a looksee. . . .of course not all the proprietary ingredients are listed, but there are some interesting-sounding combinations.
Might have to give frozen cherries a try. . .

I'm just posting over here too... I couldn't keep up with both boards... did you post your sorbet smoothie on the other board?.. I've been taking a smoothie to work every day for my afternoon snack as we can't eat at our desks... no one ever said anything about drinking... but I'm interested in expanding my horizons... I only make one kind of smoothie so far...
I've been making my smoothies with about 1 cup of strawberries, 1 c soy milk, 1/5 package of silken tofu, and 4 tsp sugar (still working on bringing that down). I find that it's not quite as thick with less tofu and adding the soy milk... for me it's got a good mouth feel...
what other fruits do you use? I don't like bananas in my smoothies but I bought some raspberries and blueberries today...
I'll check out your other thread if I make it over there... thanks for posting this!
