Congratulations on reaching your goal! Way to Go! The dinner co-op sounds like wonderful idea! If you wouldn't mind sharing...I'd love to hear more about how it started and how long you've been co-oping.
Thanks, Kiki

But to be really honest… I haven’t seriously journal-ed or counted points since Feb. 5th. I hit my goal weight in Oct. and made lifetime the beginning of Dec. I weigh myself every day and have a range of about 4 lbs that I stay in and I have a top “RED light” weight.
Somebody said that “not journaling probably only works for extremely boring people who eat the same thing ever day…”
I do eat the same breakfast 6 days a week… and don’t eat out that often… and I have a few standard lunches that I eat… but dinner is VERY varied… but I have dinner portion control down pat and I do try to follow the Core idea of just eating until you are full and not past full.
Cobismom~ Congratulations on your weight loss success! Way to go!!!

I tried the other and just couldn't make it work for me...I think it was too much freedom. I've lost a total of 40+ pounds using KD's and WW and have counted points on every bite that goes in my mouth. Journaling food, emotions etc are the only way I can keep me straight and on the loosing track.

It's never too late to get it right.

I'm solo on it now, but I still count points. They didn't have Core while I was actually in the program, but a friend of mine is on it right now and is having fabulous success. She chose it because she was tired of dieting by eating smaller amounts or diet-friendly versions of her "fat menu"-- and so since all her habits and tastes were the same, it was far too easy to just go back to normal.
This time, she's all about fueling her body right, learning what things make her feel better and learning how to cook these things well. Pretty much KD-style, from what I can tell. She loves it.
In the time I've spent maintaining, I still count Points but the foods I choose are mostly Core-style-- lean meats, whole grains, veggies, fruits, plain nonfat yogurt, that sort of thing. Lots of fish. (Considering how rarely I ate fish before, that's pretty extraordinary.) The less processed, the better-- more "real food" to fuel myself, less junk that doesn't do anything except pump up flavor in unhealthy ways.
I'd say go Core, if you're ready for that sort of a lifestyle makeover. Or, if not, start on Flex and start making baby steps toward Core-type foods and meals with an aim of eventually being able to make the switch. It's the food you're gonna want to be eating the rest of your life, really, so start getting used to it!
I've heard a lot of people say that they stay fuller for longer on Core, because they're eating foods that your body really has to work on and that have lots of nutrition to give. Burning coal instead of newspaper, so to speak. So whichever way you go, Core foods are the place you want to end up.
