Remember kd's show with the lady who was a SAHM of a disabled boy and another child? She was Italian and loved to cook and eat. She told kd that a skinny friend of hers told her to do something different than she was doing to lose weight. It made good sense to me. (Her name might have been Maria.)
Anyway... tonight dh and dd watched a short movie after dinner. Normally I would call it my time to watch tv or read a magazine. But my exercise has been light lately and I am still up 1.5 pounds from vacation as of this morning, so I put on my walking gear and hit the pavement for 50 minutes of powerwalking. It felt great. I feel great. Mostly I love that I did what "thin" Sandy does. I am getting out of vacation-sit-and-eat-and-rest mode and more into my willing and active mode.
Here's my challenge to you: do something different tomorrow -- something that will make a difference. Don't take the easy road. Go for it. You're worth it. Report back for bonus points and cheers.
This is different "pillow" talk for us. But this AM before my dh left for work at 4:30, I made him give me his recipe for summer squash and zuchinni. It is very healthy, but I had no clue how to do it. With all the vegetables that friends are giving us from their garden abundance, I am looking for new ideas. That is a BIG difference. Usually I would let them rot if I didn't know what to do with them, or make dh fix them, after all he is the cook, now I am trying my hand at new things. YIPEE for me.
It's never too late to get it right.

This isn't "something that will make a difference" but it IS "something different." I did a new workout this morning. Luckily, my latest Netflix rental arrived last night so I had a new workout to do this morning. I believe it is called Denise Austin's Fat Blasting Workout. There is a 20-minute cardio, about a 20 minute strength & sculpt and a warmup and cooldown. I watched parts of the cardio to see what it was like (since I was having a hard time waking up anyway) and then did the warmup and strength & sculpt portions.

I was diagnosed yesterday with a virus that is effecting my inner ear. I've been feeling light headed and dizzy since Saturday (as well as achy, exhausted, etc....) but chocked it up to too much work at the new house.
Glad you are taking care of yourself. I remember recent posts where you talked about being light headed- thought is was needing to eat. Good that you've gotten meds and are resting today.
I don't think this is quite what you had in mind, but this is a change for me and will make a difference....
I planned on a run this morning but instead will be laying on the couch most of the day.
I was diagnosed yesterday with a virus that is effecting my inner ear. I've been feeling light headed and dizzy since Saturday (as well as achy, exhausted, etc....) but chocked it up to too much work at the new house. Yesterday it got so bad that I had to leave work and I started running a low grade temp on and off so I finally got myself to the doctor and was dx.
So, I'm on orders to rest, drinking plenty of fluids and take it easy while the virus runs its course and my anti-vertigo meds kick in to manage the symptoms.
The meds seem to be working but are making me super drowsy.
The most I plan to do today is make phone calls and possibly pack a box or two if I feel better this afternoon.
