MMMMM, I love a solid breakfast that is quick and healthy.

I just had a bananna with some Peanut Butter on it. I put the PB on bite by bite, so I wouldn't glump it on all over me and the fruit. Smiler

Anyone else have any quick and yumm recipes you care to share?

I switch between soy, rice and skim milk for my smoothies..just depends what I have on hand and feel like..no method to that at all. I like the vanilla flavored soy/rice milks though.

About the Chai...have you ever thought of having chai tea and putting milk (or soy) in it to make it a little more like the latte, but less sugar and other stuff? Just a thought...I have chai tea and love it (love the pumpkin pie like taste..mmm).

Let me know if you try it!

I like to put PB on Wasa Crispbread, the oat flavor. I usually have a piece of fruit (usually a banana) and I have recently incorporated string cheese into my breakfast. These are some of the new things I am making for breakfast.

I still have the old standby of cereal, fruit and soymilk.

It's also good to fix some toast, w/pb and tomato slices... really yummy. I am going to have that one morning this week. Since I got some great tomatos at the store.

Big Grin

and of course some water w/breakfast too.

My dh really likes soy milk. DD not so much. We also use tofu fairly regularly from everything from stir fries to mac n'cheese

I have a Chai from Starbucks every weekday morning and a usually a Zone Perfect Fudge Gramham bar. I tried to give up the chai but the cravings got to be to much for me. So, I've just tried to reduce the damage by getting the smallest they have and swithcing to Soy milk. That's been a double good thing since I'm also lactose intolerant. Switching has really saved my digestive system. Smiler

I have two main breakfasts I make.

One is I have 1 cup Kashi Go lean with skim milk and blueberries, 3 pieces lf back bacon (high protein in this stuff too) and a bit more fruit with tea w/milk and sweetener

Second, I have a packet cream of wheat with sugar twin brown sugar and milk (mmm), the back bacon, fruit and tea.

I never used to eat breakfast..EVER. iT was too difficult..and if anything I'd grab a choc chip muffin on the way to work... (hmm how did I gain weight again? LOL). The muffins were gourmet, and high fat..yikes. Couldn't do that now, don't crave that stuff.

So glad I found my way of eating for ME...took so long..years, but I am here Smiler

A favorite for me is 2 slices of toast, 2 laughing cow cheese wedges spread on toast, 1 veggie sausage patty crumbled and put on one slice of toast...top with other toast and have a yummy breakfast sandwich. I also do this as a wrap for a breakfast on the go.

YUMMY!

I have making a mix of 1 T pb, 1/2 c oatmeal and 1/2 milk. I sometimes add a packet of Splenda, but lately seem ok without.
This really holds me for the morning. I think it is the good combo of whole grain, protein and fat.

The majority of the time I eat cereal or oatmeal, but if I want a heftier breakfast cuz I'm going to be out much of the day on the weekend or something, then I will do the Egg Mock Muffin...my version is a whole wheat English Muffin, 1 slice of Canadian bacon, 1 slice of fat free cheese, and 1 egg. YUM!

2. Tackle the Sugar Monster--Have a sugar free mint after lunch and dinner, wait 20 minutes, and reassess the need for a sweet treat.

1st breakfast at 7am - oat bran muffin... (see recipe in the recipe folder)

2nd breakfast at 9-ish 1+ cups of frozen berries, oatmeal and milk in the microwave

Mock muffin (KD's homemade version of an egg McMuff) - still one of my all time favorites

Mock muffin with 1 slice of bacon and some maple syrup to make a Mock McGiddle

Homemade lower-fat biscuit and egg and bacon to duplicate a McBiscuit

OK... so I've revised the entire McD's breakfast menu...

But most of the time, I have oatmeal and fruit. Smiler

I've had this so many mornings, it should be mundane. But, to me, it's not. I have 1 cup of Kashi Go Lean Crunch with 1 cup of milk, a banana and 2 Bocca breakfast sausges. YUM!
