We've been talking about planning for the holidays and keeping a close
eye on those treats that come around this time of year. But with all
these treats comes wintry weather or for those of you in Florida, a
slight breeze.

What is your winter plan? How will you adjust your workouts? How will
you motivate yourself to get out of bed when the house is so chilly?
Also, with the days getting shorter, we're spending more time inside.
What pursuits will occupy your time this winter?

For me, I'm going to make sure I get to the gym 4 days a week. And then
on my off days, I will take a long walk outside all bundled up. I will
reward a good week with a serving of a soy hot chocolate on Sunday
night. Even thought it is not my preference, my habit of working out
after work will be helpful during the winter because I will be hitting
snooze a little more. Snuggling under a big down comforter is very
soothing. But to offset my loss in the morning's time, I will make sure
I have breakfast and lunch packed the night before - so I don't end up
eating out.

I also want to focus this winter on a few non-health habits:
1. Becoming better at a home cleaning/organization system - my biggest
foe is laundry - I don't have enough black socks, underwear, bras or
camisoles for 2 weeks of work, but I usually only do laundry every two
weeks. This causes morning cursing.
2. Turning off the TV more and listening to music
3. Spending time scrapbooking my wedding and honeymoon. I hope to have
an album finished by springtime.

In general, I want my home to be a peaceful place and right now it is
not. My goal is to enjoy coming home by Valentine's Day.

Daily to do: Drink plenty of water & take vitamins

I just got the WATP 1 mile video. I have two pilates ones that I used last winter, they saved my life during blizzards and very cold weather, when I couldn't swim or walk.

My plan, is still up in the air. But I will post it after I've given it some real thought.

It's never too late to get it right.

I'm working on a massive purging of stuff from our house. The only two rooms left to do are the ones where my husband has been putting all of the junk that I made him clean out of the rest of the house. Oh, the test to our marriage to come... Roll Eyes

I am also determined to break out of the 200s permanently by May 7, when I get to go back to my preferred hobby away from work. So, I'm working out 5 to 6 days per week, on top of massive cleaning and reorganizing.

I just need to come up with rewards that work for me. That's the real trick.

Life is like a roller coaster, with lots of ups and downs, but the curves, spirals, loops and corkscrews are what make life interesting.

ROFL!

I've already kinda started. Every day I'm cleaning or straightening a section of the house that's bothered me. I've made a list of things to be done by Thanksgiving, by the new year, and by March. (remodeling type stuff)

Without employment (and children), I'm trying really hard to work on making my environment the way I want it; the throwing away & cleaning up is feeling awfully good for my soul, too. Until plans change, the dog & I are walking about 10 every morning, which is sunny time, but not burn time (like yesterday when I was outside for an hour in the afternoon. That's right, it's November, and I got a sunburn).

I've been cleaning out the fridge & freezer every week before grocery shopping, too. That keeps my tupperware containers un-moldy, gets me to throw away freezer-burned stuff (I don't freezer burn it on purpose), and helps me remember what all is in there and what isn't. I've liked doing this, and plan to make it part of the grocery shopping experience (like making the menu, the list, clipping coupons, etc).

Challenge Goals:
*10 minutes of unplanned exercise five times a week
*Gym time twice a week
*Socialize at least once every two weeks.
