I was planning dinner for tonight-KD's porcupine recipe. I thought I was really on the ball getting this ready in the morning until....I put the meat, onions, salt, pepper, and rice into the bowl and mixed it all up. Then I realize-and please, feel free to laugh hysterically-that the rice IS NOT COOKED!! Duh-okay, so is this going in the trash or is there a way to cook these things so the rice cooks too?
Help,
Jill

I have no specific goal(s) right now. I am trying to find the spiritual side of myself that I lost somewhere along the way.

WE have all done that at one time or other. But several dishes are made with uncooked rice so that wasn't such a bad goof. Smiler

Big Grin Don't feel bad Jill. I made a beautiful quiche last night for dinner. We had to run out before we could eat it to get to baseball practice. So, I put it in a cool oven so the dog wouldn't jump up and pull it off of the counter. We didn't get in until after nine, so it was a flurry of boys getting showers and into bed.

Well, today after a long field trip at the farm with the elementary school, I thought...."oooh, I can have some quiche when I get home"

it was still in the oven.

Forgot... you may need to adjust the cooking time since it calls for brown rice *S*

Hey Jill *S* I've made meatballs like this before with regular white rice and I never cook it before. I just put them in my baking dish and cover them with usually tomato juice. I did have to chuckle a little bit since I've done things like that before but this recipe should work out just fine. *S*
