It's early in the challenge, but we're already facing the first potential stumbling block: a holiday weekend! Are there any cookouts or other gatherings on your calendar? What about travel plans?
If any of your Labor Day weekend activities pose a threat to your good intentions, take the time today to formulate a plan for dealing with that threat. If you're going to a party, create a strategy for your eating. If you're on the road, decide how you'll handle the meals away from home. And if you'll be busy, figure out how to get your workouts in.
Day 3 was a total success. 100% on plan, slow eating and lots of exercising my "no" muscle.
DH openned my favorite bottle of white at dinner, I declined and put dessert on my plate even when I said 'no'. My second no to dessert on my plate was a bit snarkier but I did it!

Yesterday was a fairly good day. I sat down for everything I ate except the few times I forgot. (Still need to work on building the habit, I guess.) I added 1.5 servings of pretzels to my plan yesterday and wish I'd skipped them. All in all, not a bad day.
Luckily, our LDWE will be low-key -- we haven't been invited to any gatherings and there have been only faint rumblings about "maybe we should have some people over this weekend." So I think I'll be able to stick to my challenges.
Today I spent 32 minutes on the treadmill, 25 of them running hard, before rowing. Then I went out on the water for about an hour. I'm sore.
Did not have a morning snack and so far have not had an afternoon snack, either. It's almost dinner time, so maybe I'll just skip it altogether.
my weekend will be work work work. so the challenge will be to rest enough. i will bring along lean protein and soy milk for snacking. but then rest rest rest is my mantra.
last night, i got a stressful phone call. i reached for the pan of brownies dd made. i snipped of a tiny edge, and then i realized it was not what i wanted. what i wanted was to talk to someone . so picked up the phone. worked for me. then i went and sat at a restaurant for a hour, waiting for dd's tutoring to end. did not eat anything. just sipped crystal light. it was nice to wake up feeling a little hungry this morning. so far, so good. had a busy morning. does not look like it is going to get lighter, so i have to continue to focus on relaxation and stress management.
Goals: 1. Enjoy life! 2. Be aware, be awake, pay attention. 3. One word 2010: faith

Holiday weekend issues:
Tomorrow we're home so it will be a regular day.
Sunday will be a challenge as we're going to be gone for snack and dinner at the air show and taste of Cleveland. I am planning on having 1 beer that night and I will make the best choice available to me at the "taste".
Monday we are going to my parents house for a cookout. No wine for me which is always a challenge there but the food should be easy enough to load up on veggies and have lean protein.
