Can you believe it's Week 3 already? WOW! At the end of this week, we will be almost at the halfway point of the Challenge. If you haven't really focused yourself on your goals up to this point, it's time to step up! There's still time to see a positive change by the end of the Challenge!

So...how is everyone doing? Are your goals working for you? Are they serving the purpose you intended? Are they setting you up for failure? Are they not challenging you enough or in the right areas? Do they need adjustment?

Go Summer Se7en Team! Smiler

I wanted to make sure I posted my results:

Did the gym 3x this week (the last day was actually outside - I walked 3.5 miles)

Logged everything, still struggling to stay at 1300 calories...but doing ok

Snooze is still a problem.....working on it.

Mel

Healthy Habits Challenge Goals:
1.Log food each day to monitor staying at 1300 calories per day.
2. Exercise 4x per week (5x is a bonus)

I did well with the accountability and not drinking this weekend but went WAY overboard with my sweets.

The week ahead is going to be filled with challenges and I think I'm going to be white knuckling it back on the wagon.

Week 3 Wrap Up:

1. Exercise 3X: Only once--got very sick Saturday (and am still sick) so I haven't been able to exercise any more.

2. Eat out only 1X: Met this goal.

3. Solo FLY 2X: Met this goal, though I farted around all week and then got my two solo FLYs in Friday night and Saturday morning.

I haven't really kept up with challenges this week or last. It's been "find a house, find a house"...such stress should not be. But I think, please pray on it for us, that we have found one.
Actually we found two, one for twice what we can afford, and another for the exact amount we pay now....The expensive one was new, and VERY nice. The other house is next door to a friend (could be a problem, she is the gal that sabotages my WW efforts) But it's clean, nice and has most of the things we want, AND takes my pups.
If I were a psychic I'd say God is trying to say, "not all things are as they appear on the outside, look inside" I am trusting that this is the way I should live my life, and even with the healthy things, look to the inside rather than the fancy ice cream, chocolates, etc. Look to my insides.

So my goal this weekend is to plan menus for the week. DH is working many nights this week, which means I have to plan for one. And I am going to start sorting and tossing....who needs three copies of the same paperwork for diabetes? I'll put those in the library at our clinic. AND I am really going to put to use some of those relaxation tips. No stress, just living.

It's never too late to get it right.

I got my two solo FLYs in--one just before bed last night and one upon arising this morning. Last night, I unearthed what I call "the coat chair" in my livingroom, which was piled with all manner of jackets and, under that, a pile of papers and all manner of junk. The chair is now empty. This morning, I went through a pile of magazines and pitched a bunch, then walked all my paper recycling down (including the pitched magazines) down the street to the recycling bins.

Still haven't done my workout this morning yet. Definitely not a walking day, and I decided to go grocery shopping while my hair was still looking decent. Boy, what a difference there is grocery shopping at 8 a.m.! I love it!

My weekend goal is to sit down and map out my meals for the week. Since this last week sucked (not just for diet but all the way around) with my allergy attack I need a game plan. I can no longer eat a ton of fruits as they effect my gut in a negative way...and I get really bored w/ rice crackers, sliced peppers and hummus. so I need to think it thru. Drinking water has become very 'cumbersome' because of a new problem I have developed post allergy problem. (think depends.... i'm praying it is hormonal and will subside in a few days..) But I'm still drinking it because I know it is a good thing overall for my body. I did great today on my flying.... i hadn't really cleaned in the past 2 weeks because i've been sick so I really got the house semi- in shape....

I went to the gym today, so that's 3 workouts this week.

My trainer's all jazzed about interval training, and her guidelines for a cardio workout on the bike made it almost...fun. 1 minute "hard", two minutes recovery, for 20 minutes. I did that today, then did another 25 at a steady-but-not-killer pace (while listening to the new Kelly Clarkson album, which is chock-full of sassiness and guitars).

We have dinner tonight at my MOST FAVORITE RESTAURANT EVER!!!, so I wanted to be sure I felt good about it and went with a light heart instead of "I'm going to have to work out tomorrow or Sunday and so I can't eat what I really want to and dangit, why can't I enjoy this..."

Water went well this week at work, and it's getting easier to choose that instead of Crystal Light or diet sodas at home, too.

The garden needs some serious TLC. And I need some time alone out in it. If the bugs aren't too bad, I'll go out today before I shower; if they are, I'll go out today ANYWAY but with bug spray on.

I nearly rationalized a way not to go out there and get it under control....nearly....

I am not having a very good week. I have only gotten in 1 of my 3 weekly workouts, I don't think I've done ANY of my solo FLYs but at least I haven't eaten out (though I sure have wanted to).

I think at the root of my bad week is work. I am so stressed and it's getting to the point of being sort of angry about some of the things that are happening. I will think to myself "I'll do a 15-minute FLY when I get home." and then, when I walk in the door, I just get obstinate and think "NO! I had a hard day. I'm going to relax." It's like the inner 4-year old thing with eating but with cleaning. (sigh)

I still have Saturday and Sunday to get in 2 workouts and 2 solo FLYs so the week is salvageable, but I'm just not feeling super good about myself this week.

Dh and I split a bottle of wine over a lovely three hour dinner. Then we had some dark chocolate. Not anywhere close to being in line with my challenge goals today but it was worth it and wonderful.

See the "what's for dinner" thread for my plan for the today and the weekend.

Basically I decided to substitute last night for one of the weekend days that I am "allowed" to drink so I'll be dry on Saturday : )

Glad you are feeling better today Amy! Very scary!!!

I play tenor sax in our community band. I really enjoy it, unless there is no music!

I am doing better today-mentally and physically. Thanks for the prayers. Eating basically some simple grains today. just had a couple of small potatoes w/ olive oil. My stomach is still churning but is OK.

I do carry an epi pen. I had it w/ me and even got it out but I didn't want to use it unless i "had to' because it would have meant going to the hospital where they have NO idea why this happens. They just put me thru stupid tests. I was breathing fine and not passing out...(although I was lying down so i couldn't really pass out from that position.) so I just weighted it out...

I probably do have 'leaky gut' so I have to go back to eating just veggies, ckn and rice for awhile. I really am suppose to minimize fruits because they aren't good for leaky gut. I love fruits! it is just so complicated. At least I found a dr who gave me that dx which after research I think it is correct. (It probably stems from a lifetime of antibiotic use.) He just kind of flies by the seat of his pants for fixing it so I may need to find another doctor.

Gonna at least stick to my H2O goal this week- since at the moment I am still able to drink water.

Hey Brie- so what instrument do you play? what type of band? I used to play in our local band and it was lots of fun. I should do something like that again.

I will not stress eat I will not stress eat I will not stress eat!!!!

I'm so pissed I could spit nails and I want chocolate. I had one very small square and stopped myself but I want more. I'm good on my other challenge goals.

I will not stress eat, I will not stress eat!

I went to band tonight for a dress rehearsal for a concert on the 7th of July only to find my folder missing. I was not at rehearsal last week and the girl who had my folder from the last concert was supposed to leave it for me. She did not. To top it off, the other tenor player didn't show up so there wasn't any tenor music at all. Neither person emailed our conductor or section leader that they weren't coming so like an idiot, I waited and waited. PLUS, I got to rehearsal early because we had about 30 pieces of music we needed to pull from our folders so I wanted to take the time to get things back in order.

I wasted over an hour of my time, and my dh's who cuts his day short on Wednesday to stay with dd so I can go to rehearsal.

Now I need to figure out where my folder is and get it back so I can at least run the through the pieces before the concert.

My section leader and conductor are as pissed as I am but I am really fuming.

I will not stress eat, I will not stress eat!

Logged food and on plan!

I spend only 15 minutes alone this AM we had contractors here and things went from bad to worse.

All in all, a success considering life circumstances.

I did not solo FLY last night as I had planned and I did not get up and exercise this morning as I had planned. Not a good start to the week in terms of meeting my goals. Frowner
