I was thinking this week that the Holiday Resolutions thread has really been helpful to me in setting weekly goals and then reporting back on how I did (I find myself thinking about it many times when I'm not even online, like "Oops, better wash out my lunch containers!" hehe), This got me to thinking "What about after the holidays?"
So I thought I'd pitch the idea of having a goals thread for each month or quarter; for example, at the end of December or very first of January, we could have a thread called "January Goals" and people could post either what their goals are for the end of the month or do the weekly goals as some of us do in the Holiday Resolutions thread. Then, at the end of the month, you could go back in and report on how you did. Or, if we do it quarterly, we could do something like "Jan.-Mar. Goals" or "First Quarter Goals" and you could still choose to make goals for the whole quarter or break it up by week or month.
I know we have periodically done goals threads but I think it might be really helpful to have a regular place to be able to set goals and then, throughout the month or quarter, be able to refer back to them so you can be sure you are working toward reaching them.
What do you think?

Sounds great to me, all. I know that accountability is one of my failings. I can say it write it and then forget it. Maybe I should sell products on tv infomercials ).....any way , count me in on goals and resolutions for each month....it will do me good.
It's never too late to get it right.

Sheri, I like the idea too. I have not been using the thread much. One area I want to focus on is keeping my goals in mind- to have them be more a conscious part of my thoughts and my life. I would have to work at participation, but it would be a good thing for me!
Congratualtions on the cooler thing. That is huge and significant.
I am finding the Holiday Resolutions thread really helpful in creating routines/habits. I kept putting the "empty your lunch cooler and wash out the containers" on my goal list week after week until it became a habit.
Now that I've regained that habit, I plan to cut it from my goal list this weekend and replace it with another habit I need to build. For me, living alone and being so much in a routine, the hardest part of habit-building is just remembering the habit I'm trying to build! The goal list helps with that.

It sounds like a good idea to me. I know after the holiday season i need to really get back on track. Right now i have come to the conclusion that I need to cut myself a little slack. Its just not a very good Holiday season this time around.
Being accountable is one of the most important steps for me.
