Hey y'all...

Sorry for my sudden disappearance a while back (okay, months back). I accepted a deployment to Afghanistan and got back last week. I'm still readjusting to a "normal" life...and being able to COOK again!

The good news is that being on a base where you don't like the food and where you get at least one terrible stomach bug a month means you can lose 30 pounds without really trying Smiler My goal now is to maintain, and to remember the lessons I learned about being active, eating only til I'm not hungry, and most of all...being grateful for what I have.

I missed y'all, and I'm sorry I couldn't say more before I left!

Diana!!! {{{{hugs}}}} I'm so happy to see that you haven't fallen off the planet! I was wondering if you moved to CO and all heck broke loose. Wink Like everyone else, I'm glad to see you're back safe & sound.

Life is like a roller coaster, with lots of ups and downs, but the curves, spirals, loops and corkscrews are what make life interesting.

Diana, it is SO great to see you here again! I will ditto the "glad you're home safe and sound" sentiment. A coworker of mine who spoke Farsi was "enlisted" for an assignment in Afghanistan a few years back. She said she had to live the whole time in a bunker type outpost cuz things were so tense at the time they weren't allowed to go out and about on their own.

I'm sure it was an adventure, but I would also imagine you are very glad to be home!!

So happy to have you back among us again.

So happy to have you back. I figured you weren't around because you were wrapped up in your move. Probably good that I didn't know the real reason -- I would have been worried this whole time!

YAY!! I saw your name and was hoping it was a new thread not an old bumped thread. SO glad to hear from you. I think about you often. I posted a few months ago in a thread about summer clothes and swimming suits about wishing you were still around because you always had great ideas (I remember you posting links to outfits or clothing pieces/accessories you bought or were going to buy).

Welcome back to the States. Sorry to hear about the ongoing stomach flu thing but wow-30lbs! How do I get signed up? Just kidding, of course-not a fun way to lose weight.

Anyway-welcome back and hope to see you here a lot!

Jill

Welcome back!!!!!! So good to hear from you!!!!

I'm glad that you are back home safely!

Are you back home to St. Pete or did you sell your house?

PS Sounds like it's time to post an updated photo : )
