I am always getting a lift from little sayings that seem to say just the right thing. Share a quote that has helped you along the way or find a new one today to give us all a boost!
I found this one this morning..
"When you flee temptations don't leave a forwarding address."
Kat

I took some night classes at a local college years ago and the teacher who used the room before our class (don't know what subject they taught) would have little saying written on the board. I remember these two:
"A truly contented person can enjoy the scenery(sp?) along the way when forced to take a detour."
and
"To belittle is to be little."
My signature line did not come from there but from a movie.
"Live your life so that you are not afraid to sell the family parrot to the town gossip."

I've posted this one before. I heard it at a continuing education seminar. The presenter told us that it is his minister's favorite saying. As it's still prominently displayed on my refrigerator door, I'd say it's now become one of mine.
Insanity: Doing the same things the same way and expecting different results.
I actually stole this quote from my auntor agree with her. The book "The Little Engine that Could" is her favorite book she always says. "I think I can I think I can, I Knew I could!!" (or to that effect on what the engine said.) That gives me confidence that I can do what ever is in my way and I will succeed.
"Make the healthiest choices possible for you at all times, in all situations. They may not be the same choices your best friend would make, they may not even be the same choices you would make tomorrow or next week. But make the healthiest ones for you today."
It's never too late to get it right.

D.I.E.T. is a four letter word that really means: Disallowing Imperfections Equals Trouble Dangerously Inadvisable Eating Tactics Damned Idiots Endorsing Thinness Deprivation Inevitable Everything Taboo Don't Imagine Eating Treats Definitely Inviting Eternal Torment Deceptive Industry Eating Trap Desperately Impossible Eating Targets Doomed Investment Every Time Determined Initially Enthusiasm Temporary Done In Every Time Did I Eat Today Deny Ingesting Everything Tasty

I read through these whenever I get discouraged and start thinking of a quick fix. They remind me that diets set you up for failure the key is babysteps and changing my habits.
Enjoy every minute!

Goals for April: Exercise 3 times a week. Drink more water everyday.
Long Term Goal: Weigh-in at 180 lbs by my next Birthday. (Sept-13/06)
I have two that are currently posted. One is my signature at the bottom. The other is this:
"If you have made mistakes...there is always another chance for you...you may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call 'Failure' is not the falling down but the staying down."
--Mary Pickford
"Courage...doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow."

Mine aren't quotes that apply to healthy eating per se, but that have meant something to me. I have a listing of these and others on my website:
"The need to be alone and the need to connect are both essential to human happiness." -- Psychology Today
"A room without books is like a body without soul." -- Cicero
"We don't stop playing because we grow old....we grow old because we stop playing!" -- Unknown
"The highest reward for a person's toil is not what they get for it, but what they become by it." -- John Ruskin
"The miracle is this--the more we share, the more we have." -- Leonard Nimoy
I think that last one is the perfect quote for this board, because you can sit and read posts and gain a lot of information from just doing that but, when you start sharing yourself through posting and interacting with others is when you really have maximized the process.
