DS rarely gets a treat because of all his allergies. When i went to the store to the store a few days ago he asked if i could bring him a 'surprise." I spent quite a few minutes picking out the product that would effect him the least- and ended up w/ some really yummy gluten free animal cookies. He just asked for a few and is sitting right across from me SAVORING them...eating them in small bites, licking some of them first, just really TASTING his food. He doesn't do this with all his food. Even his 'salty' treats that he gets quite frequently. This is a true treat for him....i think I need to take a cue from that. Less treats...more savoringSmiler

My daughter does that do - she likes to make her desserts last. I try to play a game with myself on dessert nights to see if I can be the last one done : )

My five year of maintenance revelation:
I am in the driver's seat when it comes to food and I'm a h*ll of a good driver.

Amen sister!

Goals:
1. Stop thinking like a chronic dieter and start living to inspire.
2. HALT (hungry, anxious, lonely, tired) I will stop and tune in with myself should I experience these things, and respond with something healthy.
3. One word 2008: courage
4. Eat slow and mindfully.
