The hike to Robber's Roost was actually pretty short -- maybe 1/2 mi. each way. It was a little longer TO it, as we kept losing the trail.

The drive there was about 6 mile of jeep road, followed by .8 miles of off-road, but very scenic.

Now that Fall is here, and we have a new doggie, we're trying to go on more hikes. Hopefully, we'll be doing one this weekend!

Me too! Grrl, I can't imagine what it would be like to live near enough to that kind of place that you could just drive on over and take a hike. That must be so cool!

Of course, I live within a few hours of the Shenandoah Mountains and they are pretty cool, but not as jaw-dropping as where you live!
