How do you all deal, or how did you deal with vacations when you were heavier or not happy with your body? Were you able to put it aside and have fun or were you like me and remember feeling bad most of the time because of your appearance?

No words of wisdom here, BTDT. I think like that too, but I'm not always reminded of how I look. I try and think, "Well, there's not much to be done about my weight right now so I might as well stop caring and have fun anyway." I do pretty well if I don't look at pics of myself or run into mirrors. I also feel better when I'm wearing nice clothes, regardless of my size.

Something I try to keep in mind is that I deserve to have fun no matter what size I am. So do you.

Jill,
I don't have a great thing to share but wanted to offer a huge hug. I'm sorry that you find yourself being so hard on yourself at vacation time. I hope you'll find a coping technique or 2 from everyone that'll work well for you.

I thought I'd throw out the suggestion that you consider participating in the challenge and choose a goal that you could focus on during your vacation. Maybe when you start to talk in a negative way to yourself, you'd be able to stop yourself and credit yourself for working on your goal that day.
