So...if anyone has any ideas on what I can do with them, other than just eat them or as shortcake, then please share.

We have 3 1/2 pounds.

Way to make lemonade outta those lemons! Wink

I'm late to this thread but I marked this in the free Kraft magazine I get thinking it sounded pretty yummy and could pretty easily be slimmed down and it didn't make enough to feed a small country:

In KD's first book(the yellow one), there is a recipe for strawberry-rhubarb sauce. I've made it and it is excellent. It is great on toast, English muffins, or served with fruit or over ice cream. I also like to cut up strawberries and put them in water with some lemons(squeeze the juice out and toss lemons in water too), add just a little sugar to get the flavor of the berries in the water. It keeps for several days and it makes great homemade, flavored water with a lot less calories and no artificial sweetener like bottled, flavored water.

Puree some and add some simple syrup. Then freeze in an ice cream maker. Voila! Simple sorbet.

If your Mom does not have it, I am seeing it in grocery stores.

I also love strawberry rhubarb jam.

The inside insert in a box of Sure Jell has a fabulous recipe for strawberry jam. It is no-cook and you store it in the freezer.

Great ideas, thanks. We went to Noblesville. Take 146th to River Road, turn north and follow the signs. It is around 161st and Cherry Tree Rd. I think the name is Spencer's (something with an "S".)

They are $1.55/lb. for the pick your own.

I really like strawberries in a romaine salad with some poppy seed dressing.
This recipe looked good too. http://eatingwell.com/recipes/strawberry_coolers.html?utm_source=EWTWNL

Maybe a fresh strawberry sorbet? Ooh, that reminds me since my freezer is completely empty I can finally fit my ice cream maker bowl in it. Woo Hoo!
