This isn't super creative or anything, but I just wanted to share, that for the past few days I've been eating my oatmeal fixed with organic applesauce in various flavors and it has been GREAT!
Easy to fix, tastes good, and a whole lot less sugar than the flavored packs in the grocery.

I love the Irish Oatmeal, but generally only make it on the weekends, because it takes about a 1/2 hour to cook.
Alton Brown has a recipe though, that you can cook in the crockpot all night.
I'm generally not ready to eat first thing in the morning though. I drink soy hot chocolate on the way to work, and then eat my oatmeal at work. (that's why I'm using the instant stuff). However, I'm using Trader Joe's Complete Oatmeal that has soy protein in it too. LTD from the boards told me about that.

I serve my oatmeal with honey-sweetend milk, and a little cinnamon. (I heat the milk-honey mixture in the microwave.) Honey is "calore rich", but it's so flavorful that you don't need to use much of it, and dark honey contains lots of good antioxidants.
Mmm sounds yummy! I love applesauce, but haven't had it in ages.
Lately I've been hoarding raspberries. They've been on sale 2 for 1 pretty frequently. So I've been bagging and freezing them. Love em in my fat free nilla yogurt. Bet they'd be good in oatmeal too!
My mom has sworn off instant oatmeal. Now she swears by the thick whole rolled kind that cook in about 5 minutes. She made some for me recently, and I admit - they are good! More "oatey" and with a lot more texture.
Have you ever tried the irish steel-cut kind? I hear they're a totally different experience. I'm thinking about giving those shot ... come Fall.
