Has anyone tried LARA bars. They are delicious and have only whole fruits and nuts. The ingredient lists are short- like cherries, date, walnuts.
No added sugar.

I've had these and like them quite a bit. Not too high in cals or sugar. Here's the web info:
Kashi Granola Bars

There are also some new bars fro Clif that I picked up last hike that are good...they are fruit/nut bars sort of like Lara bars:

For those of you with young children, Whole Foods has tiny ww pitas. They are about 2" in diameter. They are WF brand.

I made a great vinigrette- it seems more "summery" than the balamic that I generally make.
Lemon- Mustard Vinigrette
2T fresh lemon juice
1T dijon mustard
1T EVOO
salt
pepper
Very flavorful.

I haven't tried it yet. I was in Wally World last week and they had Kashi granola bars. They look pretty good!

Well, I tried the tofurkey sausages..the kielbassa variety. I barbecued them...they were a little on the dry side, but hey...I dipped it in organice ketchup, and they were great!

The taste is interesting. It's spicy..love that, but you also pick up a hint of wheat flavor. I didn't mind it though, it was pretty good. Next time, on the grill as I think I over barbecued it..oops.

Hey..better than the fire I had on my bbq a couple nights ago.. Did chicken with the skin on it (lady at the grocery store gave me that "wonderful" tip)...the skin fell in the flames, and I thought my bbq was gonna blow up LOL. Lid down..gas off, flames still going crazy. Phew, it went down, but I surely know now...no skin EVER from now on!

THe funny thing? On the other side of the grill I was bbqing a steak..it turned out BEAUTIFUL...don't know how, but I won't question it lol. The chicken..black black on the bottom, and raw inside, threw them out..then ate the steak .

Another reason not to eat chicken skin!! Smiler

It would seem that when we moved to a bigger, nicer house... we got a bigger, nicer plum tree.

The plums on the old house tree were smaller and had a REALLY sour skin. The new plums are WAY bigger and the skin can be eaten... and they are ripening. Had the first one today and it was delicious!

Tried monk fish last weekend... and did NOT like it. And I like most foods and most fish. I did not care for it, at all.

There is a reason you never see it on the menu at restaurants!... OK, I had to think about that... and I did a google search of monk fish restaurants... there are a few restaurants in England that serve it...

Sheri,

You should ask if you can special order them at whole foods. I know Wild Oats will special order things. I don't know how much fridge space you have, but they probably last a while.

Our Publix grocer here in Florida, carries Amy's organic pizza. IT is very good... I love the spinach and tomato. And with spinach I don't have to worry about the teenage son eating before me. lol.. although he has thought about it... I might have to get the spinach and mushroom next time, that should do it. The standard joke around here is once we start liking something the store will quit carrying it.

I have had to stop buying Cheddar Bunnies because I like them far more than dd does! Bummer!
Glad to know that you are getting more great options.

I'm so excited because my regular grocery store here in rural Georgia is now offering a LOT of organic options that we've never had available to us before. I'm finding things that I've heard mentioned on here like Imagine organic soups and Annie's cheddar bunnies, which I LOVED, probably a little too much!

On a more positive note, I've noticed on my past few visits to Whole Foods that they're making whole wheat versions of their muffins now. So far, I've had a blueberry one (absolutely marvelous--couldn't tell a bit that it wasn't the 'real thing') and the corn one (too sweet for my taste but still quite good).

It bugged me that their ww corn muffin was so sweet because their regular cornbread ISN'T! In fact, the reason I like their regular cornbread so much is BECAUSE it's not sweet like yellow cake--it tastes like real cornbread. The muffins were still quite tasty even with the added sugar.

Also, I've had it before but I just wanted to encourage folks to try the roasted herbed turkey in Whole Foods' ready-made foods area (it's sliced and sold by the pound). It has skin on it but it's very easy to remove and the meat has a marvelous taste and is not dry. I don't know if all Whole Foods make the same items, but this turkey has been a staple at my Whole Foods for a long time. I use it as a quick lunch option like when coming back from vacation. It would not be cost-effective for those of you with larger families but, otherwise, it's a great choice. I usually get a 1/2 pound when I buy it and that gets me about 3 meals (usually chopped on a salad).

I am SO bummed. I'd just gotten into the whole wheat thin-crust Boboli pizza shells and told everyone about them...and the last few trips to the store they haven't had a one. Frowner

In fact, on Tuesday, they were out of Boboli's entirely and I asked a "manager type" when they'd be in. She said that afternoon. I told her that I'd spoken to another "manager type" previously and mentioned that I was waiting for more ww crusts to be delivered, and he said he'd talk to the delivery guy. She laughed and inferred that they probably didn't sell. She said she'd mention it to the Boboli guy but I doubt that'll happen.

Now I gotta run around and see if I can find them at any other stores (the manager I talked to the first time called the next closest Giant the day I asked about them, and that store was out of them too).

(sigh) Here I am living in a major metropolitan area and you'd THINK there would be enough healthy eating people to make keeping ww crusts worth their while but then it's one of those things you don't know about until you stumble over it, like I did and then told you guys. The weird thing is that this same store stocks mass quantities of ww BREAD and even ww tortillas, so it's not like none of the ww stuff is selling.

We tried the Haagen Dazs Light mint choc chip tonight... we all liked it.

I also put the McCormick Grill Mates for chicken on some fish and it was excellent!!

I love this stuff too! I wish it weren't so high in calories. I think some of the 97% fat free real meat stuff probably has less calories and fat.

We've been eating these, too. The diabetes educator/dietician recommended them.

OTOH, Denise mentioned that the Vanilla of the Haagen Dazs Light was her least favorite of that line so maybe other flavors of the Breyer's Light would be more impressive. It definitely had an aftertaste of some sort, even with raspberries, choc. syrup and mini choc. chips on it.

Check the fat content though. I think one reason the Haagen Das light tastes so good, is that their light is like regular ice cream for other brands. It is light for Haagen Das, but not compared to other ice creams.
