It helps me to post goals where I can see them every day. How about posting your goals? If you are sensitive about others in your household seeing them, post them in a book you read daily, in your makeup bag, taped on your deodorant or in a kitchen utensil drawer.
Hadn't totally thought about this yet but I'll toss out a few things and retain the right to edit/add.
1. I want to continue exercising regularly. My walking buddy is going to run into problems when her son goes back to school this month so I need to be vigilant to not fall off my routine just because she might not be able to join me. Also want to try a regular aquasize class this month to see if I like it.
2. I want to add the 2 new points. I successfully added 2 this month (vitamins and no less than 30 min exercise a day) and will switch to at least 5 servings of fruit/veggies and I still have to figure out what I am going to do for my "me time" replacement point.
3. I want to look for some more ideas for lunches. I'm not minding salads so much right now because the produce is so yummy in season but I know that I am not going to be nearly as excited when the veggies aren't so tasty (and cheap).
4. I want to come up with some strategies I might want to employ during the holidays to keep from having every gathering surround less than ideal food.
My August goal is to try to stay on course as much as possible while getting used to a new routine.
My DS starts Kindergarten on the 9th, and I will be working different hours, and trying to get used to a new routine. Once I am used to it though, I think it will make dinners easier. I should be getting home a least an hour earlier.
Also, to try not to go overboard on special occasions. MY DH's B-day is the 4th and our anniversary is the 9th.

School starts both in Minn and here. We will be packing one small apartment from this house and moving it over to Minn to school...no small feat. That takes patience and bucks.
HS starts in a week with band camp and that will take all the patience I have in the world.
1. Do not use food as a stress releaser.
2. STick to my meal plan. Plan on Sunday nights.
3. Fresh vegies and fruit 3 - 5 a day.
4. Stick with the walking program and the swimming all month.
5. Get one chaper in my book done.
6. Time for me to unwind and revamp my fall...how will this mom be good to herself, considering the nest is just about empty.
It's never too late to get it right.

The whole month of August is too big to take on right now.
My goal today - Eat all three meals and snacks at home, exercise, make up a kitchen box - simular to our camping box of a few kitchen things to stay at this house until next Tuesday.
Goal tomorrow - Eat two meals at home
Actually, My goal for the month is to have a plan for every day.

I was just thinking about how moving in with my girlfriend has really thrown a monkeywrench into my plans. I'm a creature of habit, and when thing don't go as planned, I just do *nothing.*
Don't get me wrong, I happy with this decision. I just need to figure out how to re-tool my strategy to fit in with the new situation.
I used to work out at the fire station in Sedona. Now that would mean an hour long (RT) trip out of my way.
Luckily, she wants to get fitter too. We're checking into the municipal gym or signing of for a weight training class at the community college.
= GOAL 1: Come up with new training facilities.
Now I've become the primary cook. This is a good thing. My eating has been pretty much on track. Cara has gamely been trying things like whole wheat pasta, quinoa, and arugula.
However, her DS comes home tomorrow. He's kind of a picky eater -- nothing spicey, not too many veggies, lots of sugar.
= GOAL 2: Get DS involved in cooking and food prep, and expand his horizons a little at a time - so we are ALL eating healthy.
Eating is OK, drinking is not. I really enjoy coming home and having a 1-3 beers or 1-2 glasses of wine, to relax and wind down. Those really add up.
Once we find our new gym, our plan is to work out after work. I'm hoping this will help blow off that work-related steam. Plus, when I come home hot n sweaty, the last thing I want is alcohol.
= GOAL 3: Save booze for the weekends and special dinners.
And finally, I have a number of projects and big decisions that have been hanging over my head for months. This has led to a lot of stress, anxiety, and sleepless nights.
= GOAL 4: Git 'er DONE!* (and get on with it)

To stay in a place where I am not overscheduled so that I can figure out where to head my life next. I'm getting "bored" because I don't have a zillion projects going, but I need to refocus before I can rethink what direction my life is headed.
To keep rewarding myself weekly, so that I can stay on track and continue to drop this extra weight.
To finally declutter my house out, for my own mental wellbeing.

Life is like a roller coaster, with lots of ups and downs, but the curves, spirals, loops and corkscrews are what make life interesting.
My goals for August are to stay sane My mom and aunt are going to be in and out for the whole month (they are in Boston today, and I'm enjoying my "free" day, my mom has only been here for two days!!!!!).
I'm going to try to go swimming when I feel stressed, schedule massages for when my mom is here, and try to just stay sane. I'll find things to occupy her manic-obsessiveness. (I'll get the power-washer out tomorrow, she was obsessing over the decks being "dirty")
I'm going to try to keep my own schedule of eating. Keep trying to eat healthy, but not worry if I go off the wagon and eat a chocolate bar! (a whole chocolate bar is a big splurge for me). I'll try to go for walks.
(the only trouble with the swimming/walks is I'll say "I'm going swimming/walking" and she'll want to join me!!!!!!)
1. To survive a (not quite) 6-day visit with my mother in Ohio. To take deep breaths when my mother is being critical or otherwise making me crazed, so I can remain calm and not blow a gasket like I did last June (which was a first, and which has affected our relationship negatively).
2. To continue expanding my cooking horizons to give myself more variety in my menus. I have made or adapted from three of KD's recipes in the past 6 weeks. I want to continue that trend so I can broaden the number of healthy AND tasty meals I have in my arsenal.
3. To reapply myself to weight training. I've been doing it all along, but it tends to be the first thing I fall down or cut back on when I'm short of time or energy. Seeing the difference in my weight loss since I started using the Tamilee Webb DVD, I really think it is important for me to do more of it.
4. To be doing at least two weeknight room rescues a week by the end of August, even if they're only 5-minute ones.

I do that. Sometimes I take a poster size piece of paper and write something inspirational on it and hang it on the fridge. Usually, it has to do with cleaning or organizing, for example, "You can not organize clutter."
I'm much better at eating healthy and exercising than I am at being neater.
For a second... when I read the homework today... I had this semi-panic thought, "Oh no! I'm goal-less. I currently have no health goals!"
But then I remembered:
I've been eating my fruits and veggies.
I've been eating my dairy.
I've been exercising 4-5 days a week and posting it on the challenge thread.
I've bumped exercise duration up 5 minutes this month.
I've been keeping a food journal.
I've even completed KD's homework to go to the farmers market once a week (it is only held once a week...)
I'm really happy with the way July has gone!

My August goal is pretty much the same as July....
Loose 2 pounds for the month, keep the same strategy I had for July and maybe bump up the weight work more. Things are still a little more hectic these days. I've been able to get my running in most days, but working out with weights seems to be a little tougher to get in lately.
I went ahead & purchased the Fitday program and really like it. It has a diary and mood chart that I really love to refer back to. I've already seen that I tend to be more slack on the weekends (I haven't posted on the weekend days for 3 straight weeks).
Before this, I was keeping up with my progress on an Excel spreadsheet. The spreadsheet really helped, but this Fitday program gives me more details about nutrition.
Top priority is pulling off this surprise birthday party for Dad's 70th bday. My sister and I have invited so many people (our family is obnoxiously huge). The big surprise part.... All 100 or so people showing up at his doorstep all at once
Enjoy my vacation. I need it. I'll be going to the Maine coast for a week. I have already decided that if work pulls a "lets move that" with my vacation I am leaving, I find something when I return.
Keep in line with my baby steps, starting over is hard.
