Nick Jr. is running a new show called LazyTown, which inspires kids to get up and get active. My two little ones are totally hooked, and keep busting into my office to demand that I play the music videos (on Nick Jr.'s website) so that we can all dance around.
The show is a really pwerful motivator for little ones. It features a superhero who gets around mainly via backflips, and teaches fitness and nutrition, all in a really colorful muppets/cgi/live-action setting. I just wanted to share this with the other Moms here who want to get their wee ones up and moving. But be warned--at least in my house it has lead to some jumping on (and off of) the sofa.

I don't have little ones, but, 100 years ago in the beginning of Nintendo, there was a dancing pad that did the same thing as these toys. It has a mat, that you jumped around on as the people on the screen did. My kids were 5 and 1....we lived on the second floor of an apt. building with an elderly gentlman down stairs from us. He said he could tell when it was 10:00 AM; as my kids would start exercising, it was time for his walk.
There are many of these "movement" things available for our kids to use. As PE starts being taken out of our schools....parents are going to have to get off the couch, too, and get moving with the kids. I love it!
It's never too late to get it right.

Thank you for sharing! Simply because of the name of it, I've never let my kids watch it. I will have to find it today and watch it with the kiddos. Thanks again for the review.
Blessings,
Lori

Alli Thanks for the heads up. This sounds like a really cool show that my dd would really like. We'll be home for the next few weeks as the last day of school was today so I'll have to check it out.
