I told Sheri that I had an Nutrition Action Newsletter here that did a brand name rating for different frozen dinners. I found it today.

There are two pages of small print (ahck… my aging eyes!) and I can’t be bothered to type the whole thing.

I don’t recognize a lot of the brands… so I won't type those...

Here are a few of the newsletters “best bites” and “honorable mentions” of brands I recognize - they rate them on nutrition… they don’t say how tasty they are.

Product - calories - sodium (mg.) - fiber grams - saturated fat grams

Gardenburger Meals Meatless Citrus Glazed Chicken 220 - 600 - 9 - 0
Lean Cuisine Café Classics Chick aL’Orange 230 - 340 - 2 - 1

Amy’s Light in Sodium Vegetable lasagna 290 - 340 - 4 - 4
All Healthy Choice, except Salsbury Steak 290 - 590 -5 - 2
(these numbers are an average of the entire line)

Going to go rake leaves for 30 mins. Smiler

Thank you so much for doing this, Denise!!! I am on my way out of town for Thanksgiving right now but will make more note of this when I get back. I don't believe I've tried any of the ones on the list yet but I do have that LC Pork with Cherry Sauce in my freezer. There are several more on the list that I would like to try (even as picky as I am hehe).

Thanks again! This sure beats standing in the freezer section for a half hour comparing nutrition information on the back of 30 boxes! LOL

I had Trader Joes Vegan Pad Thai with Tofu for dinner tonight.

Nutrition Action gave it a "best bite" with 390 cals, 160 mg sodium, 4 g. fiber and 2 g. sat. fat.

It was REALLY tasty. I put it over a half a pack of frozen Asian vegs. It was a great, easy dinner.

Has anyone tried the Amy's Light in Sodium ones? I don't really care for Healthy Choice stuff but was particularly interested to hear any reviews of the black bean veg enchiladas from Amy's.
