thankfully, I don't bake "goodies" so nothing to worry about there. But my son got a box of chocolate covered cherries from a friend, and he doesn't like them....so they have remained wrapped until last night. DH and I broke into them and each had two. It cost me 5 pts, but it was worth it. There are five more cherries left and I put those in the freezer for emergency status. I figure one cherry is better than a whole candy bar or cake.
It's never too late to get it right.

We still have some stuff left over but it's not very interesting, so I feel safe for now. - Cookies and gingerbread, mainly for the kids and not my favorites anyway - Chips: not my faves, and without the dip, no way - Dark chocolate thins (in the fridge for 3 months now; I've been planning to let my coworkers eat them) - Licorice (can do without that) I've had indigestion all week so that makes it easy to abstain

I don't really have anything that I am keeping in my "stash". I have a few cookies left that will go as soon as they stop tasting good. I'm usually pretty good about getting rid of stuff that I can no longer be trusted with, nor do I keep stuff in the house that I cannot resist. I have been on a yogurt kick since I got a yogurt maker for Christmas. I've been snacking on that. So, I am not only getting extra dairy in, it's less sweet than what I usually buy.
Life is like a roller coaster, with lots of ups and downs, but the curves, spirals, loops and corkscrews are what make life interesting.

I dumped our remaining cookies and fudge in the trash. I felt a twinge of guilt because some of it was a gift to dd from a school friend but the cookies and fudge were getting hard and stale so that was my justification. There is really not much left that could do much damage. Some chips-but without dip I probably won't touch them and there is no dip so they won't be a problem. There is no soda, just some cranberry juice and seltzer water(which I like to mix together with some fresh lime juice). Since I am on crutches and can't walk much or drive there is little chance of me getting my hands on any junk food. Jill

Thankfully, most folks know not to give me food gifts anymore...I did get a bag of dark chocolate Dove Promises because my friend knows that is something I eat all the time--there is always a bag in my freezer and I eat them 1 a day. The person who surprised me (not in a good way) is a coworker who is a lifetime WW member and who knows how I struggle with sweets...she gave me a Santa cookie jar FULL of candy (Hershey's kisses, mini Reesie cups, mini Hershey bars)--I don't know what she was thinking. I didn't bring any of it home...left it all at the office and put it out over the holidays. Most of it has been eaten up. I was into the stash mostly for the Reesie cups...and there were fewest of those, so my dipping into the jar was largely limited to the first few days after she gave it to me.

We still have a bunch of stuff - home made cookies from our neighbor from our New Year's party, Vosges chocolate and hot cocoa and some Smarties from England that someone brought for my dh. I think there may also be some TJ's truffles left too. We did toss our left over linzer torte which was out of this world but just not quite as good the next day, and therefore not worth the calories anymore. Surprisingly, nothing is really calling me so I'm not feeling the need to banish these items from the house. I know they are there but it just is a non issue. If they start calling, the chocolate and Smarties will go to work with dh. The chocolate is his anyway and he's really enjoying having some after his meals. Being that he doesn't have any kind of weight issue to speak of and it's all dark chocolate, there is no harm in him eating a bit. The cookies will go into the trash if need be. I think it helped being sick this week - I lived on toast and soup for a few days and I seemed to have avoided the holiday sweet withdrawal problem I usually have.
