OT: Life Line Screening - Heard of them?

I have been getting these offers from a company called Life Line Screening for 2 years or so. They offer 5 health screenings--stroke/carotid artery, heart rhythm, aortic aneurysm, peripheral artery disease and osteoporosis for $149. Sure sounds like a good deal, but I've never known anyone who has had a screening with them, so I am a little leery.

Has anyone ever heard of the company (good or bad) or known anyone who has had screenings with them? Thanks.

Thanks, Cathy. This is exactly the kind of information I was looking for. You know the old saying "When it seems like it's too good to be true, it probably is!"? Well that's what has bugged me every time I have received one of these mailings from them.

And thanks for all the links, Sheltie.

Here is one group that doesn't like them:

I don't know anything about the credibility of the above group.

Yes, I have, they went through here about three years ago. Basically the screening is everything you would have done at a doc's office, BUT if you want the total results, it's more than $149.00. For that much you get the basics and no followup. For followup you have to take it to your doc, who will run the tests again, and you've lost $149. If you really want to know, go to the doc and have it done there, save your $149 for your next cruise.

It's never too late to get it right.
