Hi,

I was flipping thru one of my old Prevention Flyers and came across this neat little tidbit I thought I would share:

Start redesigning your plate by redesigning your grocery cart. For every grocery cart full of fruits, vegetables and whole-grain foods, you need just a hand-held basket or fold-out top basket of meat and added fat.

So thats what those little top baskets are for guess I will make me kids walk...lol. Big Grin

Have a nice night everyone.

ttfn
Patty

I spend 90% of my $$ and time in the produce department. The basket is filled with fruits and vegies and other products found there. I walk around the store and look in other baskets and they are filled with chips, dip, sugar cereal, etc. Not that I am holier than they are, but, I think even though my budget is spent on higher priced items we are getting a better bang for our buck. And getting healthy too.

It's never too late to get it right.

you know, I've had comments at our local grocery (from the clerks that have known me for 10+ years) that I sure am eating healthier these days. I just laugh because I think I've always eaten healthfully, but they have noticed a difference. My basket is usually VERY full of produce and things like tofu, fat free unsweetened yogurt, whole grain cereals, etc, and very small amount of meats, snacks, etc, etc.

Blessings,

Lori
