Yes, it is a yo-yo thing! I did great threw the cookies and getting rid of them. It is afterwords that I have struggled with rushed holiday gatherings, potlucks, get togethers, and have no time at home to have healthy meals or even the energy to plan ahead. Right now I am regrouping for the weekend (should be fairly settled) and I will make plans for the rest of the week after Sunday is done. I have a partner starting the first of the year to lose weight with though - my sister. She has said she wants to lose the weight as much as I do so maybe working together on this we can both succeed. We have never been on the same page before at the same place, same time. We are still planning on walking in the local schools until the end of March when they stop the program since the weather should clear. Our First BIG goal is losing enough weight before we take a vacation together to Florida the 2nd week in June. We are not setting an amount, just to be down in sizes and where we can walk without being out of breath to keep up with her two children (& our Mom - the one you met in Chicago KD!). The measuring cups and food scales are out and ready to be used! We are both putting money in a pot weekly and the winner (the one of us who loses the most by our trip) gets to pick what we will all do with it. Like a boat ride, or a special treat that the whole group can enjoy. That would bring us the most joy! I am also thinking about picking up a part-time job which I hope helps keep me busy in the evenings or weekends so I stay more active, yet earn so extra cash. I haven't decided yet but it is in the thought process.

Anyway - that is a quick update before the holiday weekend.

Merry Christmas to all and Happy Holidays!

May your New Year be blessed with good health, lots of love, and unexpected magical surprises!

Beth

p.s. For all of those that are on the Christmas Card List - Mine are on their way! Smiler Thank you for the wonderful cards that have brightened my days over the past week or so!

Beth: Sounds like you (and your sister) have a great plan, there! Best of luck in carrying it out. Perhaps you might want to join the Accountability Journal thread and set some goals to keep track of. Doesn't have to be a weight goal (mine usually aren't) but some sort of healthy eating or fitness goal.

Beth, nothing like a plan with real life benefits! I am excited for you that you and your sister are both wanting this together. From what I have heard about sisters (not having any), it's a great experience to have someone who knows you so well really want the same thing you want. And wanting it for eachother will really keep you committed to the other person's success. Sounds awesome!

Thank you for being a part of inspiring my cookie tree Smiler I've enjoyed looking at it everyday.

Lynne
