I had a better time finding design ideas for a halloween cake on the internet, but not as much luck with the christmas cake. where is my Ace of Cakes when i need him? geez!
Goals: 1. Stop thinking like a chronic dieter and start living to inspire. 2. HALT (hungry, anxious, lonely, tired) I will stop and tune in with myself should I experience these things, and respond with something healthy. 3. One word 2008: courage 4. Eat slow and mindfully.

How about a Yule log cake? It is a traditional cake. Basically a jellyroll/swiss roll cake decorated to look like a log with little meringue mushrooms.
I'm taking Gingerbread Cake into work today for a dessert potluck (I really don't like gingerbread, so I think it's terrible, but TJ assures me it's GOOD, and that the lemon curd on top makes it REALLY good). The lemon curd recipe makes too much for the cake, so I'm putting the leftovers into phyllo shells for a party we have to attend this weekend.
You could do a red velvet cake...or a chocolate cake, and top it with crushed peppermint candy.
If you like to decorate...what about making a bundt cake look like a wreath? Make the icing green, pipe some leaves and a red ribbon, sprinkle with colored sugar. Or two round cakes; set them side by side, cut one smaller, and voila! Instant snowman. White frosting, candy for the buttons, nose, eyes, and (if you have any left...) bark arms
