Just thought I'd report that I got my 3-mile Walk Away the Pounds DVD this week from amazon and did it this morning for the first time.

I really like it! There was a larger group of people in this one and I really loved the energy of the group. Leslie interacts more with the other people and they also pipe up and make comments about which movements they like or when they're feeling the burn in their muscles--I found it more fun workout overall.

While it is the same WATP movements as always, she changes things up by having you do kickbacks in a wide stance, and BOY does that make a difference! She also has the round ball hand weights in this one (Walk Away Weights) which she doesn't in my others.

I don't have the WATP weights nor do I have dumbbells that light so, believe it or not, I used two Glade scented candles that come in little glass globes! Since my hands are tiny, those worked great--granted, they aren't as heavy as dumbbells but, trust me, I still felt it! Smiler I will work my way up to using 2-pound dumbbells once I get around to buying them. Smiler

As for the music, I wasn't sure I was going to like it at first but, by the end, I was actually quite enjoying it. It's a bit more "canned" sounding (electronic music) than the music in my older WATPs which sounds more like stuff you'd hear in a dance club.

The best part is that there was never a single moment during my first workout with this DVD this morning when I questioned whether I'd be able to finish it. I felt as strong at the end as I did at the beginning...just more sweaty! (grin)

I have this one and I love it. It is still quite a challenge for me though. Most days I just do the 2 mile or if I'm beat or in a hurry the 1 mile. It's great to have options and something to work up to.

How interesting! I had no idea she had written a book. Thanks for posting that!

That's great Sheri! THe first time I did the 3 mile I had already been working out daily for about 2 months, and I didn't think I was going to finish that workout. But that was the ONLY time I felt that way.....it got "easier" after I had done it just that once.

Blessings,

Lori
