Sorry, I need to post this one early again this week. I have a rather busy day tomorrow and doubt I will be able to check in.

Many of you may be starting your Thanksgiving get-togethers early as I will be. We will be having dinner with DH’s family tomorrow and my family Thursday. The homework assignment is a simple one….....Share your blessings.

Here are a few little things I found that I would like to share with you all.

What Am I Thankful For?

What am I thankful for this year?
What blessings come to mind?
My dear friends and relations,
So loving and so kind.

Each time I see the sunrise,
And the beauties of the day,
The unexpected little joys,
I find along the way.

The Best Things in Life Are Free
When we count
our many blessings;
It isn't hard to see
that life's most valued
treasures are the
treasures that are free.

For it isn't what
we own or buy
that signifies
our wealth.

It's the special
gifts that have
no price:
our family,
friends and health.

BE THANKFUL
Be thankful that you don’t already have
everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don’t know something,
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations,
Because they give you strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes.
They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you’re tired and weary,
Because it means you’ve made a difference.

It’s easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
Are also thankful for the setbacks.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
And they can become your blessings.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Given the events of the last couple of weeks, I'm mostly thankful that my immediate family is safe, healthy, and together.

Earlier this year, we were visiting my cousin's family for my aunt's 80th b-day. We went around the dinner table to say what we were thankful for. When it was my DS's turn, he looked a little confused by the question. So I rephrased it: "What's your favorite thing in the world?" He pointed to me. Brings tears to my eyes every time I think about it!

Me too Smiler I worked retail the day after Thanksgiving at Rich's (now Macy's) for many years and I don't miss it a bit. I don't even go shopping on that day anymore Wink.

I am so thankful for so much. I don't think I can post a complete list. So here's what comes to mind:

-->all the people in my life (friends & family)
-->all the struggles of this year
-->going back to school
-->that I've maintained or lost clutter in my house and on my body
-->the ability to move and exercise, and play

Life is like a roller coaster, with lots of ups and downs, but the curves, spirals, loops and corkscrews are what make life interesting.

There are so many things to list but I will narrow it down.

Things I am thankful for:

1. Morgan, my dd, who I love with all my heart, she is my best friend(now she is 13 and tests my patience daily but I'll take that teenager stuff-it's all part of the gift I've been given).

2. My parents and my 3 sisters and their families.

3. A year of actually living. I was in a very bad relationship for many yrs and ended it last fall.

4. My job-even though I don't enjoy what I do, this job has provided me many opportunities.

5. Everyone here. I have never been so in-tune with my body, my eating, and exercise since joining you all here.

Jill

'06 was a tough year for us in many ways.
However, there is still lots to be thankful for:

- the good health of my immediate family
- the love and support of family and friends (you guys included)
- a beautiful home to make new memories in

Out of our beliefs are born deeds; out of our deeds we form habits; out of our habits grows our character; and on our character we build our destiny.

I was told yesterday morning at work that I am being organizationally realigned again. Effective in two weeks. This will be the fourth Division I've worked in since I've been with the agency--and not because of changing jobs, but because of being organizationally realigned multiple times.

I spent a lot of yesterday feeling angry and resentful and sad and mixed up...this news, on top of all the stress I've already been carrying at work, was just too much. When I got to the hairdresser last night after work, Donna asked me what was wrong the minute I walked in the door and I broke down in tears in front of the whole salon. I was feeling sorry for myself.

Then she started rubbing my shoulders and asking me questions and she readjusted my head for me--God bless her. So this morning, I can share the blessings in this situation because now I can SEE them:

1. I still have a job...and in these hard times, that is a huge blessing in itself.

2. I'm still going to be doing the same job, so I don't have to learn an entirely new job.

3. I'm not being required to move for the foreseeable future, so will not immediately have to leave my coworkers that I've become friends with since the LAST realignment (2000).

4. My current boss's boss assured me that my staff and I will continue to be included in my current organization's birthday parties and such because they still consider us part of the family--this will help ease the awkwardness of being part of a new organization but still sittting with the old one.

5. The guy who will be my new supervisor is a great guy--smart, nice and fair. All day, as coworkers heard the news, they were congratulating me on the move because they think so highly of this guy. I just couldn't hear the congratulations at the time because I wasn't in the right head space.

My work blessings are, of course, only a small part of the blessings I have in my life, but they are what I am focused on right now so that's what I wanted to share.

Rest of Summer Goals:
1. Exercise-Cardio: Min. 2-3 walking or DVD cardio workouts per week.
2. Exercise-Weights/Toning: Min. 1 weight plus 1 toning workout per week.
3. Food: Get those veggie servings back up to where they were!
4. Behavior: Start reducing sweets now that the automatic after-meal response is better.

WOW.... This has been quite a year for me... a complete 180 from where I was at this time last year.

1. A year in a healthy relationship.
2. My family
3. A new car.
4. A career I love and a work environment that is awesome
5. Extra work through a variety of clients.
6. My cat
7. That I don't have to work retail tomorrow. I did that last year and I feel sorry for all those folks.
8. Exercising Regularly
