Here is my plan for Monday: Breakfast- Maple & Brown Sugar Frosted Mini Wheats w/vanilla soymilk, orange juice and coffee w/splenda. Lunch- Teriyaki tofu veggie rice bowl and a diet coke. Dinner- Veggie lasagna and a mixed greens salad w/mushrooms,tomato and fat-free Italian dressing. Snack- Strawberries and a 1/2 cup of vanilla frozen yogurt.
Well, we didn't grill out last night. We ended up going to a local diner for a quick meal. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and a salad. Here's the plan for Sunday: Breakfast- Egg and fat-free cheese on whole wheat toast w/a veggie sausage patty, orange juice and coffee w/splenda. Lunch- Tuna salad sandwich w/low-fat mayo and tomato, carrot chips and a diet coke. Nothing fancy today because we're having our Easter dinner next Sunday. Snack- Fresh strawberries and soymilk. So far today I have had 2 bowls of Frosted Flakes with milk (of course). I do not know what is on for lunch today because we are eating at my parents' house. The only thing I do know we are having is birthday cake (mine-it was 4-2). Wish me luck and give me willpower!!!!

Saturday: B-soy oatmeal, etc. S-fruit trail mix with mini pretzels, 1 black jellybean!! L-vegie rice bowl s-probably yogurt with fruit D-don't know yet, dh and dd are going to fix something after going grocery shopping.
I'm in a bit of a rut with the breakfast and lunch, but it's easy and I do like eating it. I really should try to think of some new items to add to my menu, though.
Exercise: don't know if I'll be able to get any in. I rode my bike to and from my son's friends house to drop him off and pick him up, but that was about it.
90 day goal: 4 days of cardio, 3 days of strength training each week.
Well...last night wasn't great, but could have been worse I guess. I had a filet o'fish and half an order of fries, and part of a coke for dinner, and then 2 beers at the game, and then a cashew butter and strawberry jelly sandwich when we got home at 1am.
Today so far I had coffee and a WW bagle sandwich with 2 veggie sausage patties and 2% cheese.
I am REALLY, REALLY tired today and really need to NOT overeat, or eat the wrong things to feel "energized". I KNOW that doesn't help, but for some reason, I'm always tempted to do it when overly tired.

Here's my plan for Saturday: Breakfast- 2 Kashi blueberry waffles w/sugar free syrup, soymilk and coffee. Lunch- Subway ham sub on Italian bread w/veggies and a little honey mustard and a diet coke. Snack- 1/2 cup vanilla frozen yogurt. Dinner- We will probably cook out tonight, don't know what yet. I'll post it later.
Ok, get ready to be grossed out. B: Ate 1/2 mini bagel with crm chs. about 75 calories
Ate this cheesecake ice crm with choc. chips and strawberries. Dinner had to pick up chinese as dh was starving and I was at outlet stores ALL DAY with my friend, I got some very good deals on things I probably did not need and spent a good amount of money. I got alot of walking in but nothing else good except for some quality time with friend. Forgot totally that I was not supposed to eat meat after I ate some chicken and broccoli - I have no idea what happened to my brain today.
I had no intentions of buying anything and I planned on getting home to make us a nice dinner.
I can only pray that tomorrow will be a cleaner day of eating for myself. I feel like I ate a ton of calories with no nutrients.
Friday, April 9th: B-same thing as usual, soy oatmeal, yada, yada, yada S-plain fat free yogurt with raspberries, blueberries and Golean Crunch. A small handful of all fruit trail mix. L-probably a vegie rice bowl D-probably out to Sweet Tomatoes -not sure what I'll have!
exercise: none yet, I'll see what I can fit in.
o.k. - I didn't have the vegie rice bowl, I had way more trail mix than I should have. ( I chomped it down while sitting at the computer - a no-no for me!) Dinner was at Sweet Tomatoes - I had a lot of different salads, 2 very small bowls of different vegetable soups, and a very, very small dish of vegetarian pasta. 2 slices of cantaloupe for dessert and a huge stomach ache for the evening. I guess I'm not used to eating that much. A couple of the salads I had had the dressing already in it and I think that really bothered me, too. Oh well...
I did get some exercise tapes in though. I did the 2 mile watp and half of the Get Fit Fast tape!

I didn't eat breakfast. I didn't exactly skip it, I just slept in WAY too late.
Lunch: Boca "chicken" in a WW tortilla w/tons of lettuce and tomato, a little grated cheese and a little ranch dressing. Coke
S- some yogurt and fruit
I'm not sure about dinner. We are going to the Cubs v. Braves game. I can't eat meat today, so I think I may have some sort of baked potato. That is the only meat free item I remember seeing at any of the restaurants there. When we have suite tickets, there's a great pasta bar but we don't have suite tickets at all this weekend. I'm going to have to be extra careful, because we are going to 3 games this weekend. I wanted to eat before we went, but my DH wants to leave at 5:00. Even if I eat before we go, I think I'll need to eat again before the night is over, especially since my day got started so late.

You've come to the right place Ted! Hopefully this thread will give you some good ideas for recipes/menu and the site will inspire you to be healthy. Welcome!
Out of our beliefs are born deeds; out of our deeds we form habits; out of our habits grows our character; and on our character we build our destiny.
Hello My name is Ted Kennedy. IM a 32yr old stay at home dad(Mr mom). I need som support bad Im almost300 pounds and I do not accept it,Im trying to live my life around it. I am a kid at heart and love to play with my kids every day thats what gives me the power to make it from day to day. I thank you for this web site and look forword to all your support....
Thursday was a very clean day - and I feel so much better for it! Got home after band practice at 10:30pm. I was dead tired and of course the best thing to do when a person is tired is to stand in front of the fridge for a several minutes and try and figure out what to eat. "Anything eaten after eight turns into extra weight" went through my mind. (I think that I read that in Dr. Peeke's book...) I closed the fridge door and went to bed.
FRIDAY PLAN:
1 cup flaxplus flakes, 3 T. flax meal, 1 T almonds, 1 T dates, 1/2 t. sugar, 1/2 c. grapes
16 oz decaf, 1 oz half/half
1 raw carrot
peanut butter sandwich on rye apple
1 cup non fat yogurt, 1/2 c. grapes, 3 T flax meal, 2 t. sugar
4 c. vegs with broth
boca burger, bun, with Franks Hot sauce and some cheese in fridge (that isn't bleu cheese and I wish it was but it will do ok).
Today was a little off plan. My truck ended up in the shop and I had to spend my 30 minute break picking it up. Ended up with KFC in the truck on the way back to work. I limited myself to 2 srtips of chicken and ate the coleslaw later for a snack (too messy to eat on the run )
Friday's plan:
B - 1/2 cup almond raisin cerial with blueberries and 1/2 cup milk
L - tuna with lite mayo and baked beans, i'll get a side salad from McD's also
D - scallop pasta with broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, celery, onions and grape tomatoes with a lemon herb sauce.
s - slice toast, popcorn, warm milk (does it ever help you sleep)
After work I want to go for a walk on the bike trail (just don't tell DH, he doesn't like me walking alone )

Here's my plan for Friday: Breakfast- Kashi Cranberry Sunshine cereal w/soymilk,orange juice and coffee w/soymilk creamer and splenda. Lunch- Going to bbq place w/bf. I'll get a kid's barbeque sandwich plate. It's a pulled pork sandwich w/sauce,coleslaw and brunswick stew, only smaller portions. Dinner- Shrimp fajitas. Snack- Blueberry low-fat yogurt. Hope everyone has a great Easter weekend!
Friday- Walk/run 45 minutes in AM B- 2 c cereal with skim milk S- fresh pinneapple chunks- 2 cups L- going to Noodles- I get a kid's mac (smaller portion) and cheese and a large salad with no dressing- I eat it all as a mac and cheese salad. S- 1 c milk in hot tea D- pizza with ww crust and veggies and 2 oz cheese.
Thursday: B-the usual, soy oatmeal with all the fixins' The rest of the day is unplanned so I had better get with it. I'm going out to run errands and grocery shop, so I will bring a bag of snack mix and a bottle of water with me. I think that lunch will be a roasted vegetable enchilada (Trader Joes)and dinner may be out.
Exercise: Rode bike up to school and back. Was also going to ride to the library, but I wimped out. (You should have heard the excuses running through my head: it's cold and windy, I used the lock on the kids bikes and don't want to leave my bike unattended, I have to go right by there later anyway - why not take the car?...) I'll try to do a 2 mile watp if I have time. Or, if I get the lawn mowed I'll count that!!
90 day goal: 4 days of cardio, 3 days of strength training each week.
WEDNESDAY: Breakfast and lunch went as planned. At lunch at 11:15am. Then due to schedule gone bad, didn't have time for a snack. Was STARVING at dinner and was STARVING again after band practice. I don't think I did much damage but didn't plan to eat two bowls of cereal and a toaster waffel...
Got to go get ready for a school assembly (and I just had a nightmare about it...!)
THURSDAY PLAN (short version): The same plan as yesterday - but sandwich for lunch and a different dinner. Coop dinner - not sure what it is
