I was at 167.0 at weigh-in last night, down 0.2 from last week.

I don't have WW for the next two weeks so I'm going to weigh myself at home at lunchtime as if I were at the meetings. I weigh less in the mornings but I'd rather keep the same conditions so I don't see a "gain" when WW starts up again.

I was the same this week when I weighed in on Friday. I'm not surprised - I journaled but didn't stay on plan well at all.

The next two weeks will be especially stressful - moving and then going down for what will probably be our last visit with my mil.

I just hope to maintain these next two weeks.

I weighed in yesterday but couldn't stay for the meeting. That is 3 weeks that I have missed the meeting and I miss it. I had a very stressful week and knew that I was going to be up but didn't think it would 2.2! That was a lot. Now I am a little frustrated and ALMOST have that "it doesn't matter I'll just eat it" attitude. I MUST shake it. After yesterday I would have thought I would be motivated to eat well but yesterday and today I did not and have used a large chunk of my allowance points for the week. And we are just going into the holiday weekend! I am a little frustrated. I figure I just need to be really on plan and get back into the groove of making good choices. I was at a 14 pound loss and now I am at 11.8. It seems like a big difference... It will be OK. I just need to get over this funky mood.

Yesterday's weigh-in was a totally different scale, different conditions, everything different, so I can't really compare, but this week I weighed 166.0 on the big Toledo Scale at the gym locker room (definitely not my favorite place to weigh in, since it reminds me of the "Guess Your Weight" booths at Cedar Point.")

We have an open house to try to get people to join our WW@Work next week. I think she'll let us weigh in (I hope). I know she'll have the scale there to see if people weigh enough to be allowed to join.

P.S. Today I'm wearing pants that were too snug when I bought them a month ago. Smiler

No offense taken, trust me. I took the plunge tonight and went to weigh in....couldn't wait to start on the "new" plan of lower points by one, and the Wendie plan which I have already been doing. This plan shakes up your metabolism, but not having the same number of points everyday. If I can increase my exercise by 30 minutes a day...walking now (YIPEE) and swimming or biking...I should be able to tell. The best part of this is that my blood work will show the point at which the meds and the food are hitting it off again. NO more worrying about the scale.
Better way to keep track of my blood sugars, also.
Bee, it has been a stressful week. I am so seriously thinking of making the 200 mile trip to find a new doc....that it's scarey. But that's another day. For now, I have a team that I am working with, and including her briefly in the planning. So I feel as I have advocated for myself, a big step forward, and have won that victory.
OH, my weight, up .2, how do they scales to weigh that little? But I figured it would happen, so that's the best part. The book is now hidden in my bag, and will only come out on WI days.

Thanks for the support.
Cathy

Cathy,

I hope you did not think I was saying that. I was just talking about from this point forward it would be good if you can get some idea of how much weight gain to expect from the medication. If you gain weight above that new set point it could help you to target food weight gain instead of thinking it's medication gain. You're still capable of gaining weight from food if you do overeat, but how would you know where the line between medication gain and food gain and/or plateau is unless you figure this out with your nutritionist/doctor, especially with the need to decrease calories as you loose weight? I hope you can figure it out.

Cathy,
I just want to stand up applaud you for continuing to fight so hard to get to a healthier you. I think most people would have taken the "see, I really can't control it" approach after hearing from that nutritionist. Instead, you continue to work on finding a nutritionist that will listen to your needs and take your goals into account, you continue to swim and bike despite the knee pain and you are working incredibly hard with staying on your meal plan.

Kudos to you no matter what the scale says tomorrow (if you choose to weigh in)!

I'm not sure where I fall in the weigh in camp. Under most circumstances, I would say weigh in, get your number what ever it is and make the adjustments accordingly. On the other hand, if you think it's going to mentally set you back and undo all the good work you've done this week, then skip it.

The important thing is to be honest with yourself about if you are sticking to your plan regardless of what the scale says. If you've had a super clean week, met all your exercise goals and still gained - then to h*ll with the scale. If there are areas which you could do better in, then focus on those things and see how the weigh in goes next week.

Sending big hugs to you. I know it's been a stressful week for you.

I hate to disagree with those of you who have stated that eating more food with the medications is causing the weight gain. WRONG, very WRONG. I have my trackers to prove that I have been on points or under points all summer. Ask my doc, the size four penome or what ever? She has NO clue. Seriously, NO clue. I had to get this info from the psychiatrist and dietician. The weight gain will last as long as I am on both meds. And that could be forever. So, sorry it's not the food. But the nutrition is the answer. Right now, I need to know how to adapt the eating plan to counter act the meds boosting the weight. Just happens that way. The meds are on board to stay. They work they save my life, what can I say. But being heavier than I am supposed to be, behing told that I may just have to "settle" on being 200+ is NOT sound medicine as far as I am concerned. Thanks for caring enough to write, but food intake is NOT the problem, it's balancing the food, the meds and the exercise .... but this is a bigger balancing act than normal weight loss.

Denise, I must have had the save virus, because that is how my vertigo episodes started 5 1/2 years ago....I endedup in the ER literally thinking I was going to die that night. I could not move my head a fraction of an inch without throwing up or passing out because the vertigo was so severe. WIth that initial virus, the vertigo lasted for about 12 weeks, and they told me that I would likely have reoccurances for the rest of my life when I get overly tired, or have viral infections or am having sinus problems. Until two weeks ago, my problems have only been mild. This bout has been the worst that I've had since the initial virus, but nothing that I can't handle.....it's just maddening knowing that there isn't much I can do about it.

Blessings,

Lori

I had it for about 7 days... about 10 years ago... it was terrible.

I empathize with you all. I had vertigo for a year once in the mid-90s. Thankfully, it was positional vertigo so I could still drive and go to work and do my job relatively well. The horrible times for me were morning (getting out of bed) and evening (getting into bed) because the vertigo kicked in when I changed position from vertical to horizontal or vice versa.

I am relatively sure mine came from going on a water flume ride at Busch Gardens, getting water in my ear, and then immediately getting on DaVinci's Cradle, which is a ride that spins you vertically vs. horizontally in centrifugal force. I think the ride jammed the water in my ear so deep that it created the vertigo.

My ENT thought I had Meniere's Disease but tested my hearing (hearing loss comes along with the vertigo with MD) and it was fine. She still thought I might have Meniere's and was just at the start of the hearing loss but thankfully the vertigo eventually went away on its own. That was LONG year, though.

Going to bed at night was like going on a really scary ride...I'd gingerly get into bed and then hold on to the sides of my mattress while the room spun and my eyeballs slammed back and forth inside my eye sockets. Unpleasant doesn't begin to cover it. Thankfully, there was no puking that I can remember...nausea, yes, but no puking.

QUOTE]Hi Bee,

I take antivert, but it messes up my sleep/wake cycles, so I only take it when I HAVE to to keep from throwing up. I've dealt with this off and on for the past 5 1/2 years....it is something that they tell me I'll just have to live with.

It is a pain, and so incredibly annoying, and it zaps my energy, but it appears that for me, there is nothing they can do.[/QUOTE]

Yikes! How horrible that there is nothing that can be done! I sure hope that mine clears up soon, and thank goodness it isn't as horrible as Denise described.

When I get up, the room spins/tilts and I get nauseous but not too terrible. The headache and the fatigue from the virus is what's doing me in right now.

Thankfully the antivert is helping a lot and although it's making me very drowsy, I slept like a log last night.

I hope that you start feeling better soon Lori!

I had it for about 7 days... about 10 years ago... it was terrible. In my case, the whole room tilted when I sat or stood up and I'd throw up. I got out of bed to let the dog out and fell on the floor next to the bed. Thought it was an earth quake.
Smiler

I had to lay in one position and not move. It was a virus and I had to just let it run it's course.

Looking for wood to knock on that it won't come back and sending you guys best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I'm probably down a pound. At least that's what it says.

Me too Heather. I'm so sorry. Losing a parent is very hard. Be kind to yourself.
