Hi to all that remember me & hello to all that don't. I have been on & off of this board for the past few years.
I had a really bad year last year (2005). I spent my entire summer layed up with kidney stones. It took 3 operations (Over May - September) to get them. Then we hit the Holidays & Stress at work to get caught up. Needless to say any progress I had made is now completely gone. I loved coming here to get support and advice so here I am again. I have been reading and somethings have changed, Cool.
On to my quesions. Due to the stones I have had to cut out so many veggies because they contain a certain form of calcium. What do you do when you can't eat veggies? I know when getting back on track I should go a bit slower. But does any one have any suggetions? Any input would be appreciated
Our life is only what we make it.

Glad you are back!! I hope you are feeling good, sorry to hear about the kidney stones!! That was very painful I am sure!! Stick to the good foods you are able to eat and if there are some on the list you have never tried, now is the time to experiment!! Make sure you drink plenty of water and get plenty of exercise. Take those small steps and changes to successful weight loss and good health!!

Welcome back Elfin! Sorry to hear 2005 was so rough. Hope your New Year goes mmmuuuuch better.
As far as the veggies go...which ones can you eat? I know that it is better to get a variety but getting even lots of the same ones in would be good. How about beans? Depending on what list you look at some count them as vegetable servings, some count them as protein servings. They are a high fiber, whole food choice though. My only other thought is to encourage you not to decide to do 'nothing' because you can't eat veggies. Pretty much anything can be worked around. Focus on whole grains and whole foods as much as possible and watch your calories, points, whatever. Is this going to be a permanent change? You might also want to consider a multivitamin to replace some of the nutrients you might be missing without your veggies.
