FlyChatting Rules!!!

Today, a few of us met up on AIM and had a FlyChat. The two of us who started the chat between 12:00 and 12:30 p.m. EST ended up being in the chat for FIVE HOURS! For 20 minutes of every hour, we'd chat (in 10 minute segments) and for 40 minutes of every hour, we'd FLY (in 20 minute segments). By the end, there were four of us FLYing and chatting.

It was the most fun I've ever had cleaning my house, that's for sure! My whole bathroom is clean n' shiny, my livingroom is clutter-free (for the first time in months), my trash cans are empty, my laundry is sorted and ready to wash in the morning, and I am TIRED. But, boy, was it ever worth it!

Look forward to doing it again! Hope to see more folks joining us in the future!

I got sooooo much done too! Thanks again guys! I got called into work this morning (grrrr) but I would love to do some more FlyChatting late this afternoon/tonight if anyone is game. I would imagine it will be around 4 or so my time (mountain) before I get to it because I'm still at work, I need to grocery shop, exercise and eat lunch so it'll be a bit but I really want to crank out the rest of my card project today. I'm p7eggyc on AIM so if you are game and see me, IM me. Smiler

Peg

PS) Sheri, I'm glad you slept so well! That always feels great!

Fall is a hard time for me. The change of seasons/time plays havoc with my body clock and I have trouble sleeping during this time. THe past few weeks have been hellacious, and I have been late to work numerous times due to oversleeping or having such a bad night of sleep that I slept later on purpose.

Last night, I had one of the best nights of sleep I have had in weeks. I awoke refreshed for the first time in a LONG time...I usually awake all groggy and not wanting to get out of bed. I feel great.

I don't know if this is because I was so physically tired from the FLYing or because I felt so emotionally satisfied with the results of my FLYing. Maybe it's a combination of both. I just wanted to report back that the FLYChat was most certainly a successful venture for me on multiple levels!!

Sorry I missed that one, hopefully I'll be on next time.

Robin, FLYing is sort of a cleaning system that some of us use, the woman who came up with it goes by the nickname FLYLADY. Others could probably give you a better idea of how it works, but you basically break your housework into short 15 minute sessions.

Robin, I'm referring to a philosphy about house-cleaning that was created by a woman on the net who goes by the nickname "FlyLady." You can learn more by going to www.flylady.net or by using this board's search feature to search for "FlyLady." We have discussed it here quite a lot and a number of us are followers of this philosophy.

So, in this context, "to fly" means "to clean" and "FlyChat" means "a chatroom where you chat a little and clean a little (or a lot)."

Edited to clarify that people use their FLY time however they like, not necessarily for cleaning. It is time to get to the things that you really NEED to get done but haven't been able to for whatever reason. Yesterday, some cleaned and some worked on other projects.
