She has spent the past year trying to get away from the child care industry but it always finds her and draws her back in

.
She never baby-sat for neighbors but she has been taking care of little kids in one way or another since she was 12.
At our Girl Scout daycamp we had a baby sitting unit for the underage children of the counselors so they did not have to pay for baby sitters in order to volunteer at the camp. I always worked in that unit. Dena did not like day camp so she would help out in the baby sitting unit.
As a senior in high school she had an after school job at the day care center she used to attend

.
Her original major was Early Childhood Education and she did work/study in the school's day care center but she switched to English as her major.
When she graduated she tried to get an entry level office job but after looking for 3 or 4 months she applied to several day care centers and had a job within 24 hours.
Since then she has worked for 2 day care/pre-school's and been a nanny three times.
Now she plans to go back to school (same one she graduated from) at night and complete her Early Childhood Education degree and eventually become a Kindergarten teacher.
The place she starts working at on Monday has an unusual (for day care centers) way of dividing up their classes. The 1 yo are called freshmen, the 2's are sophmores, the 3's are juniors and the 4's are seniors. Pre-K and Kindergarten kids are called post-graduates.
She will be with the younger sophmores (age 2 to 2 1/2). There is a big difference between kids who have just turned 2 and those who are about to turn 3 so they divide them into 2 classes.
