Ok, it is a do over week for me too. I'm finally over the bug that has been going around and since last week was a waste for me, I'm going to do week 3 over. I did walk about 3 miles with the dogs yesterday and am feeling it in my legs today!

My exercise goal for this week is to do SOMETHING everyday and 3 days of weights.

Food goals...stop overeating!! Cut my portions down, and make better choices.

Ok This is my week 8 homework. I figured this would be the best place to post it.

I excell at finding excuses...so its a good one for me. Some of the ways i get derailed.

1. I don't plan proerly for days when I know I'll have more of an appetite. There are certain day, especially at work, when i'm moving more, and a salad just doesn't cut it. I need to be more mindfull of when they will happen, and plan better. I also need a backup plan for when i don't plan ahead. My backup plan is a lowfat yogurt and a clif bar. I don't have to worry about keeping it with me, I work next door to a grocery.

2. I get lazy fast, I've been getting better at not letting something little get in the way of a work out. If I have a little ache, I try to make myself just start slowly and see how much i can do, usually the ache goes right away. And the more I exercise, the less lazy I feel. Its a big circle, so as long as I keep exercising, I don't tend to get lazy and skip. Let myself skip, even once and the circle is broken, and its hard to get going again.

Well I started the day book and if it wasn't me it was the kids getting sick so my life was just out of order. I picked up the journal again and I am going to start off were I left off Week 2. The journal helps me keep on track. I am just glad that the yuck wasn't just hovering over my house/

OK I'm in need of a do over. I'm sticking to week 8 again this week (I only logged Mon and tues last week) So I added postits to those 2 entries for the next week, so i didn't have to owrry about space. I've written up my meal plan, and done most of the shopping. There a few things I'll pick up mid week, like salmon and bananas. I didn't like the fish at the new grocery store I went to today, and I don't like getting too far ahead with bananas, I don't like brown spots. I'll start working out again on tuesday. I give myself Monday's off because I work early in the morning and just can't get up.

So I've got a good plan, now to stick to it.

Tina,
the great thing about the day planner... there are no dates. when you get it, start at the begining. I had a really off week last week so I'm doing week 8 over again this week. If the dayplanner is the book you're getting, I think you'll like it. I love mine. I've never stuck with journalling until now. And i can go at my own speed, move on when I'm comfortable.

Hello, again. I haven't been here since I think week 5. I'm doing okay. Been tweaking my diet and adding exercise so I can get off this yo yo of losing and gaining the same 3-5lbs.It's very frustrating. I love reading this forum as it's informative and inspiring to keep on doing what I'm doing and not give up completely. I'm still writing in the planner, which helps a lot too. Look forward to chatting with you all again. Have a great weekend.

~Cathy~

Paige, I hear you on the cold! I'm at home today with the same thing. Colds are the worst. I too am planning for the return of my taste buds so that I don't overeat! Hopefully I'll be able to get back to exercising soon too. I managed to do some strength training Monday before this cold really kicked in, so I've only missed two days. How's it going for you?

Since you know that day is coming plan for it. I'm a fine one to be giving that advise, planning is one of the areas I have trouble with myself. At least try to have a hazy idea of what you plan to eat when you feel like eating again.

Thank you for the warm welcome! The day after my post I got hit with a nasty cold and everything pretty much tastes yucky. I am on the mend and will begin journaling on Monday.

I do have Kathleen's first cookbook (got it when it first came out) and I loved her food network show. I checked out her 2nd one from the library recently and love the asain flair. (The salmon cakes were yummy!) Can't wait to see her on PBS this summer.

I'm thinking this cold thing has been a good way to jumpstart my weightloss, LOL. I just hope I don't binge when I get my appetite and tastebuds back!
