(sorry) brag. Hah! Hah! Hah!
Sorry, I just am too happy today after meeting with the dietician/nutritionist at the hospital and I have lost (drum roll please) 17 pounds that I know about. You see I have not been weighed since last October when I went to a Medical University teaching hospital to see a plastic surgeon to see if they would cut out the scar tissue( mass that is on the inside of my lower stomach) left over from having a hysterectomy and bladder tuck in July 2001. All the doctors office scales around here do not go past 350 and the ones that you can buy at Wal-Mart only go to 330 lbs.

Well, she weighed me today and I weigh 344.5 lbs which is 17 pounds less than I weighed the last time and I am extremely proud of myself.

This was a great day for me. The hospital charges 36 dollars for 1/2 hour. She talked with me for 1 1/2 hour. That would have been $108.00 dollars and I did not know before I went in the office that Medicaid would not pay for it. But God must of been looking out for me because she said I am not going to charge you today and I am not going to tell them to send you a bill. Can you believe it? With all the bad luck that I have had my whole life, that I got blessed today.

I am so pumped up. It is a natural high and it makes the last two weeks of eating raw broccoli, carrots, cauliflower and fruits worth every bite.

Please help me celebrate and I do want to thank KD and all of you dear people who have given me nothing but encouragement and support when I can not count on anybody else not even family.

You people are the greatest! I love all of you. You give me reason to climb the stairs more and more everyday. I know I do not post as much as the rest of you but I am eternally grateful for your thougths and prayers.

Maybe when I lose all the weight they will fix this crap that I am left with after having an operation. For those on this board that do not know all about me you may go to the Cooking Thin site and see. I definitely have laid it all out on the line as they say.

Again, I just want to say thanks for giving me your time and sorry for going on and on.

Teresa

Glad to hear that the session went well. We'll be looking forward to a full report on the visit -- it sounds like you found a great resource. Hopefully with continued success, your life won't feel like such a struggle. I know that everything seems easier for me without the extra 50+ pounds I was carrying around. Keep baby-stepping. Smiler

Teresa,

That is AWESOME!!!!!! On all accounts! See, you can do it sweetheart! You can lose this weight, 10 (or 17) pounds at a time, you can get to your ideal weight! It will take some time, but you already know that! and God will get you through the rough spots, just like He has the rough spots of your life!

What a blessing that nutritionist gave you today! Did you learn alot about what you need to be/are eating?

Blessings,

Lori

Theresa: I absolutely bawled with excitement and thankfulness for you. How wonderful! I am so very happy for you, you can't imagine how much having you as a friend has meant to me.
And when good things happen for our friends, it's like they wash off on us.

I know great things are going to happen for you now, and they will keep happening....you just watch. Keep that momentum going from your meeting....it is going to happen for Theresa, because she is so worth it.

I know you can't see it all the way in NC but I am jumping up and down for you. What a major accomplishment. Rest well tonight and I hope you are still as overjoyed tomorrow. Good news starts a wave that carries you through and even picks up others around you.

Hey everybody,
I knew that you would all help me celebrate. Right now, though, I am so tired. Some of you might remember and to the others, I sleep in a recliner in my living room because of the surgery that I had that I can only lay in the bed for maybe an hour or two at the most and right now I am extremely tired and I am going to climb back down the 16 stairs to try to get some rest since I most have been too excited the last 2 nights to sleep. I am going to try to get some rest. I will fill everybody in tommorrow about everything me and the nutritionist talked about. Good night everyone, sleep tight.

Totally Awesome!!!!!!! That is such awesome news. I'm so glad you were able to go and that your meeting went so well. And to not be charged for the time... obviously the nutritionist sees the same wonderful person we do here. You are an inspiration. Keep fighting. We're all in this battle together.

AWESOME! AWESOME!! AWESOME!!!!!! (I'm shouting! I'm so happy for you.)

We know how much you have really pushed yourself.

You can tell the dietition we all thank her, too!

So, what did she say? She sounds nice. Was it helpful? Any "Wow, that is so interesting!" info to pass along.
