In addition to what's already been posted, I would add "Shout Out" wipes or something like that if you get stains on clothes and band aides.

Remember that all liquids need to fit in a quart sized ziplock bag if they are going in carry on bags (including makeup).

Your airline should have a list of their policies on their website.

We also made copies of our passports. We locked the originals in the hotel safe and took the copies with us during the day.

PS Bring the most comfortable pair of shoes that you have ; )

D reminded me of something else:

Make a copy of all credit cards you are carrying (front and back), your picture id and your passport and leave them with someone you trust and will be able to reach. If you are robbed or they get lost, that's the info you will need to get to deal with it. I also carried a copy of this stuff and left them in the cruise room safe when I left the country but you do need to be careful about carrying them around with you and while you are traveling.

I don't know what credit card choices you might have (or how soon you are traveling) but you might review your benefits if you have a platinum type card. Usually they will provide emergency cash, etc. while traveling so it would be good to know what is available to you.

Sunscreen, yes definitely!

Consider a sample-sized bottle of mouthwash for your carry-on. If you get stuck and don't have your toothbrush, you'll thank me!

Skip the perfume; use a bottle (with a seal of plastic wrap under the screw cap) to carry some laundry detergent. On long trips, it's better to wash & rinse in the sink than not at all...

What about a small quick translation book (if you need it)?

If you're flying, your mister might not make it through security. Check its size and the allowed size (every airline has a link to what's allowed for carry ons). Plus...and maybe I'm alone in this...I get SO irritated when other people spray what THEY think smells good in an enclosed space. Maybe instead of that, you can get a small bottle of lotion to inhale from, or a lip balm that smells really good.

Again, if you're flying, the snacks might not make it through, either. You will have to purchase water on the other side of security; if you go through customs in the US, your food might get yanked, too, depending on the country and the mood of the customs people that minute.

I travel with my medical information and all the contact information (hotel, car, parents, people I know, people I'm meeting) for that trip on a sheet of paper in my purse. Include the reservations number for the airline on that list.

And if you have a cell phone, take it. You can put all that information in there so it's there if you need it. You can leave it turned off while you're overseas, OR...talk to your cell company before you leave about whether your phone is compatible where you're traveling (or if there's a SIM card available to make it compatible) and/or if they'll do a one-week or one-month "plan" with a European-friendly phone or worldwide calling. (My brother did this on his recent trip to Hong Kong and was able to use the GPS system on his phone to find friends' homes, restaurants, and the sightseeing they wanted to do.)

Are you going somewhere that requires a "dressy dress"? If not, I'd leave it and augment something you're already taking into a "dressy" outfit.

Consider a pair of shorts, too, for sitting in the room or running to the vending machine.

And socks! I don't see socks on your list!

I agree with carrying on a shawl or small wrap.

And dress COMFORTABLE for your flight. Nothing that binds, has a tendency to pop open, constricts, or otherwise makes you feel in any way physically uncomfortable. (In fact, those yoga pants you said you were packing might be just the thing....)

Do you use hair gel/mousse/spray? I don't see those on your list.

Also, those pre-moistened facial cleansing cloths (Olay, etc) are WONDERFUL to have. They travel well, take off makeup, sunscreen, and smell better than baby wipes when you need them for your neck/hands/body. Plus, no danger of anything spilling. I just put one for each day and then a few extra in a plastic bag and toss it in with my makeup.

That's all I have right now. If I think of more, I'll be back!

Do you have any sort of wallet for keeping your passport/money on your person?

Other things that I'd be taking along:
Camera
Batteries/film/data cards for camera
Soap/shower gel
Scrub puff thing
Facial wash
Sunscreen
Alarm clock
Sleepwear (maybe 2 sets because it might be quite hot in some hotels or a set that washes/dries easily)
Will you have private baths in every lodging? If not, will your coverup work as a robe?
Tweezers
I have a wool shawl that I take on planes as a blanket/wrap. On that long of a flight, I'd probably be taking some sort of pillow of my own.

I agree that a packing list from somewhere might be a great idea.

Found it (you can also download the list to print out)-scroll to about mid-page for the checklist.

I have no specific goal(s) right now. I am trying to find the spiritual side of myself that I lost somewhere along the way.

I don't know if you have to bring along any hair appliances like I do -- if you do, do you have a converter for the electric outlets in Europe?
