I hope it's Ok to ask this- but every time I go to loose weight I get major hemroids. Les stuff going thru the bod I think. Any ideas...beyond the usual more fiber and more water? I actually had a colonscopy in early December because of blood in my stool and he confirmed the dx. vs. other 'bad stuff.'
thanks

Thanks guys. first gonna sprinkle the flax seed on my oatmeal in the a.m. I have it in the fridge for DH oatmeal but never wanted to add the calories but think i'm gonna have to. I think a lot of it is thruput and lack of carbs. I'm trying to eat more protein 30/30/30 fat/carbs/protein..i noticed when I track on fit-day that i'm usually over 50% carbs (and that's less than I usually eat when not watching all that I eat!) and they are good carbs... fruit and veggies...but I have been trying to have eggwhite omlets on whole wheat tortilla every morning vs. oatmeal because it makes me less hungry---but I think i'm gonna go back to the oatmeal. I buy that one that has more protein but I'm thinking I will add some egg whites to it along w/ the water and perhaps it will give me more a.m. fiber plus protein to sustain me..or maybe I'll hard boil some egss or something. Right now I'm also tracking all my hormones in a saliva test which wouldn't cause it but makes it hard to do any of the remadies because the test might be messed up. It could be too much fiber but I really don't think so based a fair amount of 'poop knowedge' that I have on my own bowels and DSs (he has tons of constipation related to gut issues...) Thanks so much for all the ideas. Really going to do the flax seed and make some granola bars with it in it as well.

I agree with Sheri. Look at the changes you are making and try to figure out what the cause of your problems may be. You can also talk to your doctor or a nutritionist if the problem continues.

I ditto the recommendations below. I also sprinkle wheat germ on my cereal to up the fiber so that's another idea--I keep a jar in the fridge. Also, I recommend Phillips' stool softener for when you need a little help but don't want to take a laxative. It's not a laxative but an easy-to-take little gelcap that will help you have an easier go of it. Certainly not something for every day but I use it occasionally when needed.

Rest of Summer Goals:
1. Exercise-Cardio: Min. 2-3 walking or DVD cardio workouts per week.
2. Exercise-Weights/Toning: Min. 1 weight plus 1 toning workout per week.
3. Food: Get those veggie servings back up to where they were!
4. Behavior: Start reducing sweets now that the automatic after-meal response is better.

I second the flax seed or fish oil supplements that Jen mentioned. I used flax seed most of the time and when I don't I do have some troubles.

It will improve as you lose. I used to have 'em.

Using witch hazel on 'em will help too.

Make sure you're not cutting out all fat from your diet -- it's my understanding that this is one of the reasons that Weight Watchers added the requirement that members have 2 tsp. of healthy oils (olive, canola, flaxseed) each day. There are also flaxseed or fish oil supplements that you can take that have lots of health benefits.
