Me too. I have not figured it out fully, but I know that my fear really kicks in when I get too hungry. It's so irrational- I don't have any medical conditions that would create immediate problems. I am never more than a few minutes from food- either at home or a food store or a restaurant.

I had a very good on plan day yesterday. I kept my calories on the low end and stayed mindful of my plan. Today is going very well too.

"not having enough"--where did THAT come from?

i ate my lunch (snuck it in) at the movie theater on sunday. i had tofu over brown rice, and japanese salad. it was really yummy but i was worried that the other patrons would smell the chinese food. oops!

punching bag workout was great but i figured out--the sound of the banging bag upon the wood on my deck is like a sonic boom. at 7:40am on sunday. hmmm...not going to win any popularity contests in the barrio with that. so i simiulated kicking (almost touch the bag but not quite) I still got one great workout out of it. then i ran around my landscaped yard (which is hilly).

am starting the japanese eating thing this week. TOM started also (5 days early) so far the pain has been barely noticeable but i do feel the fatigue.
did about 7 miles on the treadmill this morning and I had plenty of energy to spare so I am ready to face the world!

Eat more vegetables and fruit and eat fish at least once if not twice this week.

I've been eating out too much and it is catching up with me.

Thankfully I weighed in still at my pre-weekend weight this morning.

My heavy eating out is behind me now and back to usual.

As of this morning, I was at my pre-weekend weight despite eating out Friday and Saturday. I offset eating out with lots more exercise but I think tonight's romantic dinner with dh probably put me over the edge as I ate unplanned for bread and a small piece of carrot cake.

I plan on another extended workout tomorrow and a super lean/clean day.

Iz, when you talk about using your punching bag on the front porch, I think about Gabby on Desperate Housewives! Very cool!

Also, I was thinking about your post about not liking feeling hungry in the morning. Although I don't mind it in the morning, I sometimes get a little panicky when I feel hungry at other times during the day. Beck's helped me learn how to better put the hunger into a more manageable perspective. Still, I sometimes go to a place of fear around feeling hungry.

I had a good, on plan day today. I did stand up to eat my snack and want to make sure to sit tomorrow. (Sitting is proving harder for me than I thought it would be, but I know it is important for me in terms of my weight so I want to keep practicing and working on it.)

I am giving myself extra credit for jumping right back on my food plan after Valentines day extras.

I was a bit off plan. i had more munchies after dinner than i planned, but given how busy i was today, i am proud that I stayed away from munchies during the daytime.

Even when I eat sitting down, I have to be aware of being mindful. Sometimes, I am at the dinner table, but my mind is on stressful things or my to-do list. I catch myself.

i am really tired today because my workout was tough this morning. My shoulders are fatigued. not sore but weak. i am sure i will feel it tomorrow morning.

i am looking forward to using the punching bag in the morning if i am functional.

I did not stay totally on plan and I ate all the off plan stuff (3 chocolates and 10 cashews) standing up. I did not even enjoy them I just had some weird thought that it was V day and people are supposed to eat extras. Happily, I stopped myself before I created too much damage.

How was Valentine's Day eating for others?

I am going to continue the challenge into next week as this has really helped me. Thanks so much to those who posted with me. You helped me!

I'll be back here through next week...

thanks for everyone's consistent little postings on this thread. i felt truly supported this week from you guys! GARSH! I'm gettin' all choked up...

ok, i am going to come out fighting this morning. I did have a great night's rest, so I cannot complain. I had a great workout. I am hungrier than a hunger strike participant right now, so i am going to much on my sprouted grain toast now. my continued mantra will be "no evening munchies!"

next week will be the week before my TOM. I am going to try a little something different to reduce my cramping. one thing i noticed is that if i reduce the fats and sugars in my eating the days b4 my TOM, the pain I experiece is drastically reduced. so I am going to try to eat like a Japanese person next week. sashimi tuna with seaweed and some brown rice for breakfast. baked marinated tofu for lunch. & as much miso soup as i can muster.

I am also happy to report that my defective punching bag has been replaced with a hard core real punching bag and so i am ready to workout on sunday mornings (when the gym is closed) on my front porch. YO ADRIAN!

I stayed in calorie range today but did not sit for my 2 bites of dessert at friends house. (The short story is that I gave into pressure to stand and eat with the rest of the gang. It's ok, though as they were planned calories and it was sort of a situational thing.)

Still, I ate just on plan- even included 2 servings of fruit today!

I feel the same way! I kind of feel like being hungry in the am is a good indicator that I've been on plan.

thanks sandy!

it was truly one of those "DUH!" moments. i figured, all those little chocolate chips, they must add up. and for all those dumb stupid calories, i could actually eat real substantive food.

i still hate that hungry feeling in the morning. i guess i have poor hunger tolerance.

Iz,
I don't think you log on fitday, right?

I ask because I am often suprised how quickly my "junk food" calories add up and push me to my calorie limit. Fitday is where I started to see just how plentiful my food day can be when I eat lots of "real food."

A small handful of cchips is about 75-85 calories. I could have had a banana for that or a nice, satisfying milk tea or an extra small slice of bread.

More and more I find that if I forget the sweets on regular days and just have them on special days, I feel so much less hungry and more satisfied.

Not sure that you'd feel the same way, but wanted to share my experience.

It sounds like you are really hungry and not just craving the cchips. When I am really hungry, the bits of sweets never do it for me- I gotta go with real food.
