Got a goal for the week?

I just reviewed my goal list from the first week of my personal challenge (this is an extensive goal list, not just what shows in my siggy).

I think I did very well for my first week. When I review the list, I see that I was strongest in my food goals, so that felt good. There were definitely some goals that I didn't do as great on and some that I failed completely on but, on the whole, I thought it was a successful first week.

I have been so far off plan that I don't even know where my plan is Frowner

I had the last 3 days of a dental convention where we had an exhibit. I was the only company rep there so from 10-5 I had nothing but coffee and hard pretzels. I did not plan well, should have taken lunch with me. So, by the time 5 o'clock and rush hour traffic out of Philly hit-we did mostly take-out. Next week is back to normal so menu will be planned tomorrow, grocery shopping done, etc and back to eating on plan.

Jill

I have no specific goal(s) right now. I am trying to find the spiritual side of myself that I lost somewhere along the way.

My food plan changed today because the restaurant where I normally get a very boring turkey on WW was closed. UUGH! I ended up eating a chicken/veggie burrito- with more calories than the very lean turkey breast sandwich. I was still full when dinner time came, so I skipped dinner and just had my afternoon snack of milk tea. Not on plan, but my new plan worked well and I think my calories were ok too.

I did my gym exercise- it felt great.

I used the very, very ripe bananas to make my healthier version of banana oatmeal bread. I did not eat even 1 slice. (The fact that I was still full from a burrito helped me resist.)

BTW, I had a very good week in terms of exercise.
Here's my estimate of calories burned through exercise:
S: step, yoga- 450
M: treadmill, weights- 350
T: treadmill, yoga- 350
W: step class-400
T: subdivision walk- 150
F: none
S: treadmill and weights- 300
TOTAL Sunday through Saturday:2000

This coming week will be more of a challenge as I am working more days- will need to be more intentional,

I came down with a cold and my eating is definitely affected if not impaired. I wish I had a health-conscious housekeeper to take care of me!

I had a good day yesterday- stayed on plan. (My food plan involved about 1800 calories. I did not exercise yesterday- worked all day and went to Master class last night. Today I will get to the gym for 3 miles on TM and 15 minutes weight work.)

Here's my food plan today:
B: ww toast, pb, lite cran juice
S: red grapes
L: turkey sandwich with mixed green salad
S: milk tea- skim
D: leftovers--- gotta finish them!

I decided to leave town and go skiing. Am at library.

Monday, Tues, Wed... I probably burned about 75 cals a day walking.

Today I skiied 4 hours... but maybe spent half? that time on the lift. But computer program guesses that I burned 300 cals with an hour of "light" skiing and 350ish with an hour of "moderate" skiing.

So total burned in exercise so far... Sunday thru Friday.

300 + 225 + 650 = 1,175 if my math is correct.

I got in this week's three treadmill walks, using the Walk program. That program changes the incline back and forth between 0.0, 2.5, 4.5 and 6.5 degrees. It's enough of an incline change to make a significant difference.

Goal: Stop stress snacking.

Other than the 1 DVD workout, which I still haven't done, I have done very well on my goals this week.

I wasn't able to extend walk time appreciably until yesterday due to the weather as there was little walkable area or what walkable area there was, was extremely icy. Yesterday and today, however, I have extended my morning walk with Missy into the neighboring development since warmer temps are melting the snow.

As I noted last week, I have developed goals in many areas of my life--not just these few food and exercise goals that are my goals here. One of my personal fulfillment goals has been to read at least 1 hour per day...reading is something that I LOVE, but I don't take the time for it that I should...or that I need to, since I am behind in reviewing books for Amazon. Just this first week, I have finished Time is a River and started on The Book Whisperer, so I am SUPER pleased with my progress on that particular goal.

Update: Work week definitely not improving but so far I've stayed away from cakes and stuff (hitting the Lindt though).

As for work, I'm getting to the point where I could really use a punching bag.

My work week is going badly but I've stayed away from bakery so far (replaced it with Lindt 85%).

I'm doing well thus far. No DVD workout yet--have to figure out where to work that into my routine--but, otherwise, doing quite well.

i have had good days, not perfect for the last 2 days. i still wake up hungry so perhaps that is a good sign. i am changing my workout and i will see how that affects my hunger. i am feeling pretty good overall. not reaching for chocolate, but reaching for figs and bananas instead.

I'm having a very good on-plan day. No extra bites today. Helps that we have an early dinner on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The waiting until 7 or later makes it tough to avoid a second snack which I don't want this week.

Another good day. I added about 300 calories to my plan because I was hungry and wanted to eat something planned rather than grazing. I think that having a very exercise heavy week is leaving me a bit hungrier than usual.
