When I log my food on fitday, I usually meet my RDA of everything... but I use no calories for dessert or alcohol 5 nights a week... So I eat more fruit and dairy than the average person. And beans… I eat beans of my cholesterol.
It is hard to find balance between eating solely for nutrition and deciding how many treats one needs a day or week.

The stats are really depressing but so true. I was especially struck by only 1 out of every 100 women meet the RDA.
Even when I'm 100% on plan and eating tons of fruits, veggies, whole grains, I still fall short of the RDA for some stuff unless I'm taking my multivitamin.
The other sobering thought is that the RDA is the MINIMUM recommeded daily allowance, not what is optimal.
Out of our beliefs are born deeds; out of our deeds we form habits; out of our habits grows our character; and on our character we build our destiny.
And this is just my opinion... but I think that it is really important to eat really healthy... Maybe especially so when relying on a "full button".
WW recommends it with the Core Plan, which is super healthy, if you eat all the vegs/fruits and whole grains, dairy, etc.
But if you aren't eating too well, you can really end up short changing yourself nutritionally. For example, if you eat a burger for lunch and have an apple planned for a snack and then decide not to eat the apple because you are too "full".
An extreme example would be, you don't want to eat your dessert first... and then be "too full" for your salad and veggies.
This is sort of an extreme, ridiculous example... but when you figure MOST people are not eating enough fruits or vegs anyway... it could be really easy to decide that you are too full and skip your vegs after eating two servings of pasta.

Thanks Denise, good articles. I have to change the settings on my full button. Full to me has always been "stuffed" or feeling like I couldn't fit another bite if I tried, even though I might really like to.
Full, now, is what it really should have always been. Feeling satisfied. Feeling like the hunger pain is gone, or my blood sugar feels right. Not Stuffed!!
