The rain woke me up so I turned on the weather channel and they are predicting snow for Saturday. I hope we don't get snowed in. Wink
I remember 2 big snow storms in Atlanta in March.

This weekend is the anniversary of the Great Storm of 1993. I remember it because it caused the cancellation of this weekend's big NASCAR race.

I am not a race fan but I was a Girl Scout leader that year & my co-leader's brother was Allan Kluwicki's crew chief. Alan had won the NASCAR Championshio in 1992 and most of the girls were excited because her brother had arranged for our troop to get into the pit area at the race to meet Alan. We never got to meet him because the storm shut down Atlanta for 4 days and cancelled the race. Alan was killed in a plane crash just a month later in April.

There was also a really big storm on March 26, 1971 (more ice than snow that year) and our power was off for several days. I remember it because I became an aunt that day Big Grin. My sister's son was born that day.

Here, the normal low for today is +20F.

But this morning, it was -6F.

We didn't get an excessive amount of snow this year, but what we did get, is determined to never melt.Smiler

I would LOVE snow this weekend. We have had no real snow accumulation this winter. We've had about 3 inches at most. As much as I'm ready for spring, I always love to have at least one big snowstorm during the winter. We are getting the same storm you are, but ours will be all rain. We do not need anymore rain, rivers are already at flood stage and the prediction is for another 2 inches or rain this weekend.

Keep warm and hopefully you don't get snowed in!

Jill

We are expecting bad weather too. Our winter weather advisory goes into effect at noon today and runs through midnight tomorrow. Current estimates are for over a foot of snow in our area.

I'm heading out this morning to see my grandmother and get to the market just in case we're snowed in tomorrow.

We had dinner plans with a friend for Saturday evening but she was going to have a long drive no matter what so we're going to reschedule. Dh is sick too so it's all for the best.

We have tickets though for an arena football game on Sunday so hopefully by then the roads will be fine!
