We've been eating Gardenburger veggie burgers and like them pretty well.
They are especially good on the grill.
Our favorite variety is Portbello mushroom.
One downfall of the burgers is that the sodium is bordering on high. (This is probably why I like them so much!) Calories are good at 100 per burger and they are about 5 g fiber bur burger.

Morning Star farms "Buffalo Wings". Very good, even DH and DS thought they were good. Dawn

Oh wow. I'm a BSU grad. In the 7 years we were in Indy, we lived in Nora, College Park and then Brownsburg. I spent a lot of time in Indy growing up though and in H.S. and college. When people ask "What is there to do in Muncie for fun?" the answer was always "Go to Indianapolis". Dawn

I didn't know you were from Indy. I am originally from Muncie, and lived in Indy for 7 years before moving to Atlanta. Dawn

Huh, don't know what's up with that. Good to see you found them. Maybe they'll be back in my stores soon. I'll have to look in Denver next time I'm down there. Frustrating. I've been buying the whole grain ones as a compromise but they aren't nearly as good a choice. Peg

This article was in the Better Health section of the Atlanta Journal Wednesday: "DVD brings personal trainer into privacy of your home South Florida Sun-Sentinel Wednesday, August 30, 2006 Can't spend the money on a personal trainer? Try the DVD "Prevention Fitness Systems Personal Training" (Gaiam, $14.98). The calm and friendly Chris Freytag leads you through five targeted workouts: lose weight, get firm, improve your health, flatten your belly or slim your hips and thighs. And each workout has a weekly schedule, so you can just click on the day of the week in your chosen workout. (You can't click on Sunday; it says "rest.") Or you can mix and match the two 13-minute cardio segments and five toning sections, as well as a warm-up and cool-down, to make your own custom workout. It's infinitely customizable, and you're bound not to be bored with this many combinations." I plan to look for this & give it a try.

Seriously, Yes. I tried the All-Bran twigs and ended up spitting out my first bite. HATED them. These are way better. And... the calories are somthing like 50 per 3/4 cup which means that you get some big bowl. (That's a motivation for me!) If you buy them and don't like them send them off to Wissonsin!

Yup- the high fiber is ONLY twig like things, but they had a good texture, stood up to milk and tasted good to me. Some "twigs" I can't stand.
Hmmmmmm, they really taste good? I haven't like the twigs in Kashi or in the Optimum cereals. I may give them a try, because I really have liked most of the Back to Nature cereal I've tried. Dawn

Was it High-Fiber Multibran? I just looked up the web site and see that it is for sale there- but very pricey at nearly $4 per box. I just tried to call the company, but only reached on on-line store. I will talk with my local market.
I can't remember, but I don't think that is it. This one I liked was some sort of flakes. I think that High-fiber multi-bran one has those twig like things in it. I think they still have that one. Most recently I've been eating Zoe's Honey O's. The O's have grains with flax seed and soy in them too. This morning I had Cascade Farms Multi-grain squares (kind of like Chex.) They taste pretty good, but got soggy fast. They also don't have as much fiber as I would prefer. Dawn

For about a year, I guess, I have been searching for my beloved Complete Wheat Bran cereal, which both Giant and Safeway had stopped carrying for a long while. Then Safeway started carrying Complete OAT Bran cereal, then Giant started carrying it too, so I started getting that, though it wasn't as tasty. Saturday, I did my occasional run to Safeway and, ever the optimist, I stopped by the cereal aisle. Lo and behold, Complete Wheat Bran cereal has returned!!! (WOOHOO!) The packaging is different, but it appears to be the same thing. Just had my first bowlful, though it was mixed with the last of the oat stuff, and it tasted pretty good. So glad Kellogg's or Safeway, whoever it was, came to their senses. Now for my next Giant trip to see if they too have come to their senses.
Sheri, It wasn't Kelloggs, the Complete Wheat Bran cereal has been available here all along....I remember when you were sad that you could no longer find it. But it still remained available here, as well as on Kellogg's website. I'd HIGHLY recommend speaking to the management at both Giant and Safeway.
Blessings,
Lori

I have been eating Complete Wheat Bran this past week as my regular ceral has been discontinued (Back to Nature- can't remember the type right now.) I bought it because the calories are pretty low and fiber is high. If I remember correctly the Complete Oat Bran is a bit higher in calories and lower in fiber. Anyway- I really like the cereal. Dd even had it for breakfast this morning and likes it too. The flakes seem to stand up to the milk pretty well and the flavor is good. Although I hope my other cereal comes back, this one is a great substitute if not.

Have found some great stuff these past few weeks and wanted to share. Flatbread which I have been using for a yummy pizza...the light is 1 point and the regular is 2 points. Lightlife makes a meat free "Smart Chili" that is fabulous and only 3 points. Trader Joe's fat free smokey black bean dip...yummy with veggies. 1/4 cup is 0 points. My newest fav is a frozen green giant individual broccoli and cheese. Only 1 point and they come in a 4 pack. I had one on a baked potato last night and this morning I put one in my scrambled eggs. Soooo worth looking for!!!!
Kat
Goal: Exercise at least 3 times per week.
Remember the positives.
Get the munchies under control!
