These are in the frozen food section at Harry's Farmer's Market (Whole Foods). Dr. Preager's Spinach Pancakes. YUM!

Before you freak out, they are not pancakes in the breakfast variety that you would eat with syrup. These are closer to a potato pancake (I think there is potato in them actually.) and the serving suggestion is to eat them with applesauce or sour cream.

I had three of them for dinner last night, with some winter squash.

I bought some broccoli pancakes too, but haven't tried those yet.

serene, have you ever made Tomato Soup Cake/ go to allrecipes.com and they have some good recipes there. i never knew tomato soup could turn into a fabulous cake!

i am a big fan of Boca chicken patties (meatless). everyone i have made them for thinks it is the best chicken patty ever. they smell tastey also. considering i have bought some frozen meatless things before that tasted like the bottom of my shoe (oh, yummy!), i just wanted to pass this on.

I love tomato soup and will try almost any tomato soup. Although, I have to say that Campbells Creamy Tomato is probaby my fave. However, I picked up Pacific Natural Foods Organic Creamy Tomato Soup at the store this past week since it was on sale. It is very good. I just love it. Smiler

It is fully hydrogenated. I don't remember how much I paid for it.

I bought it in sticks and the package was 20 oz. That is 40 servings for us... so at $5 it works out to be 12.5 cents a serving... and that is way cheaper and healthier than buying desserts. I can make a pie for the 3 of us for $1-2... depending on the filling.

That's funny Peg,because the people that reviewed them in the newspaper liked that one the best. I bought the sweet and sour chicken but haven't tried it yet.

Kashi frozen dinners.

I had the black bean mango and it was really good!

340 calories
8 g of fat, only 1 g saturated
7 g of fiber
8 g of protein

It's a bit higher in sodium than I would like 430 mg but for every once and a while, it's better than fast food!

I paired it with a small spinach salad and it made a great dinner.

According to the box, the other entrees they have are:
Southwest Style Chicken
Chicken Pasta Pomodoro
Lime Cilantro Shrimp
Sweet and Sour Chicken
Lemon Rosemary Chicken

The one that I had was vegan but not organic.

And the good thing is that you still feel like you are splurging a bit.

Dingaling me was justifying that Pringles were better than regular chips (I thought they were baked). Then I started reading the can. Um NOPE.

Denise, can you tell me if the Crisco Zero Trans Fat shortening is made from hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oil? I can only find it at one store here and it is HECKA expensive (close to $5 for a small 1 pound container).....I just bought Spectrum Organics Non-hydrogenated 0 transfat shortening from our co-op, and it was cheaper than the Crisco, but they don't always have it in stock, and we only order once a month, so I have to make sure that I plan ahead. Would love to have an alternative, if necessary.

Thanks!

Blessings,

Lori

This isn't food but a new product to me nonetheless...

Kiss My Face soap. I decided to try it since I've heard good things and it was on sale this week. I absolutely LOVE it! It's made with olive oil and leaves my skin feeling so soft and hydrated (I have dry skin so this is big for me). I was nervous that I would break out but my skin has never looked better.

The organic kids Cliff Z bar - chocolate brownie variety are AWESOME.

DD LOVES them. They have a bit more sugar than I would like (12g) but they are still way better than regular desserts. They also have Vit A, C, Calcium, Iron, B1, B2, B3, B6, folate, B12, Phosphorus and Zinc as well as 3 g of fiber so it's not empty calories.

First ingredient is organic rolled oats.

I talked to the Frito-Lay stocking guy at the grocery the last time I was there and he said that he thinks that they phased out the baked tostitos but are offering the scoops in their place. At least there are still baked chips to buy!

I picked up the new baked Tostito's scoops last week. I think maybe they changed the formulation of the chips, not just the shape. They are much more like regular tortilla chips in texture and taste than the old baked chips. I never thought the old ones tasted bad but they weren't like regular chips. These are much better and I love the scoop shape so I get lots of salsa goodness. Smiler
