Just had trader joes turkey meatballs. They are 100 calories for 2....very substantial. yummy too. I added a can of tomatoes and put on top of whole wheat pasta but they are a total party food as well.

All-Bran (the cereal) has chewy granola bars (3g fat, 130 cal, 5g fiber) and crispy "sweet" snack bites (5g fat, 110 cal, 5g fiber) now.

While there are "better" choices, I tend to eat breakfast in the car, and I like the bars a lot; the snack bites are just good enough to feel like a "treat" in the afternoon. One bar, one bag of bites, and that's 10 easy grams of fiber. Coupled with fruit, vegetables, and whole-grain choices...well, do your own math and reach your own conclusions.

I've been stocking up when they're on sale or there's a coupon in the Sunday paper. For me, it's definitely a better "no-think" breakfast than a Nutri-grain bar or even skipping breakfast.

Challenge Goals:
*10 minutes of unplanned exercise five times a week
*Gym time twice a week
*Socialize at least once every two weeks.

New to me:

Lean Cuisine Classic Five Cheese Lasagna - 8g fat (3.5 g sat fat), 320 calories, 690 mg sodium, no trans fat, no preservatives, no artificial flavors.

I rarely buy frozen dinners because I am sodium sensitive and it's hard to find lower-sodium frozen dinners that are tasty when you are as picky an eater as I am. I'd forgotten this was in the freezer and was very late having my dinner so I was looking for something quick and stumbled across this in the freezer.

The first few bites were a little iffy because the texture seemed too soft (texture is my biggest picky thing)...but once I got into it, it was actually quite good. Once I wait a while and see how much my head spins from the sodium, I will consider whether to buy it again but, based solely on taste, I would recommend it.

Goals:
1. Exercise-Cardio: 2-3 walking or DVD cardio workouts per week.
2. Exercise-Weights/Toning: 1-2 weight plus 1 toning workout per week.
3. Food: Increase veggie servings back to where they were.
4. Behavior: Reduce sweets.

At Thanksgiving I found strawberry tomatoes in Meijer's. They were bigger and more round than either grape or cherry tomatoes. They looked more like the good tasting tomatoes of my youth - RED - not that washed out red.

They tasted good, but I don't think they lasted as long as the others do. We ended up throwing a lot of them away.

Tonight I had MorningStar Farms Mushroom Lovers Burger. It's new. It's soo good!

I tried it with out anything at first, then I cut it up to mix it with some lightly garlic/herb seasoned Brown Rice and Dark Red Kidney Beans that I cooked.

For anyone who loves mushroom...I would highly recommend.

Just had Nature Valley's Fruit Crisp (apple Cinnamon). They come 5 packs to a box for $1.75.
Not much in each packet..only 50 calories per packet..

not sure if I would pick them up again..

I worked at Bath & Body Works for several years...and I can guarantee that if you go in when they aren't insanely busy and tell them you didn't like it (and bring what's left back), they'll make good on it--either give you a refund (if you have a receipt) or let you swap it out for something else the same price.

That being said, peppermint sounds nice Smiler I think I'll hit it after Christmas and get some on sale!

Ahh good this confirms my belief that chocolate should be eaten and not used as a bath aide

I don't know how many of you are bubble bath devotees like myself, but I am a regular customer at Bath & Body Works to buy bubblebath. While I was Christmas shopping on Saturday, I stopped in there to get more of my favorite (Fresh Vanilla) and saw that, as always, they have some new "flavors" for the holidays.

They had this big display for the new "food" flavors--chocolate, caramel popcorn and peppermint. They came in HUGE bottles (looked like nearly twice the size of a usual bottle of bubblebath) and I don't like to buy that much of something without having ever tried it. I saw one little travel-size bottle sitting on the display and asked where I could find more. I wanted a small bottle of the caramel popcorn but they only had the chocolate or peppermint, so I got the chocolate.

I tried it for the first time this morning and all I can say is THANK GOODNESS I didn't buy the HUMUNGO bottle. The stuff sucks. Sure, it SMELLS nice--very chocolatey--but it has the consistency of chocolate fudge sauce and it did not do well at all at either blending in with the water or making bubbles. I had to add some Fresh Vanilla in to even get bubbles. Plus there were all these little brown clumps floating around in my tub--NOT pleasant!

Just wanted to forewarn folks of this holiday ripoff. If anyone else has tried these new products and has had a more positive experience, please pipe up and let me know if I just got a bad bottle or something.

Smiler I found a wonderful new tea at Trader Joe's last night. It is White Pomegranete and SO good. I am thinking about making a batch to make into iced tea. Smiler

It's certainly not a "new" product, but...tangelos are nearly done coming in, oranges are coming in, tangerines and grapefruit should be a little closer to January for the best taste.

If you can find some that are from Florida but are kinda scarred and beaten up, buy 'em. Down here, we get the ones that aren't "bred" to ship very far, and they typically aren't as pretty as others. Georgia and the rest of the SE, especially, should be able to find the uglier (but tastier!) ones.

Y'all in the NE and Midwest...well, order 'em online.

In case anyone missed Alton Brown's show on lemons...citrus doesn't ripen once it's picked. From living down here and using the farmer's market, I've learned...look for citrus that feels like it's a little loose in the rind (this means it's about as ripe as can be without going bad and has lost a little water, so it'll be sweeter).

This is honestly one of my favorite times of the year down here, what with neighbors' trees having tangerines and oranges ripening on them, and wanted y'all to know that NOW! is the time to buy Smiler

It is just a regular grocery store. They started in Fla and have been in Ga for 10 or 12 years. Don't remember for sure how long ago. I first knew about them because that is where my mil shopped in Orlando. I was very happy when they opened up here.

Is Publix a regular grocery store or a gourmet kind of store? We don't have those here in the midwest. Or at least in Kansas City.

I would love to try those.

At Publix last night we found some Grapples (pronounced Grape-L). They look like apples but they smell like concord grapes. Very weird but the biggest shocker is chewing something that feels like a crisp apple but tasting grapes Smiler

Here are a couple of pictures:

They were on sale so I decided to try them and I'm glad I did. I didn't see sweet potato pancakes or I would have gotten those. I love anything sweet potato. I should try to get back to the store while they're still on sale and buy more.

I think I saw the Tex-Mex burgers, but I don't think they were on sale. I will try them though.
