I am really not happy with myself right now. This morning I thought I will just have some OJ with breakfast. Well, all that sugar got me on an eating rampage for today.

I need to make a point to plan out my week a little better now. I can't spend all this time at home with the baby. I do need to give myself at the gym at least one or two days a week.

I need to go to the park with friends and the other things on my list. The kitchen can not be my only friend. This is getting OLD!

I feel better when I eat cleaner foods. I don't feel better when I just snack and snack. Frowner

Steph,

I remember how the early days of Trey's life just seemed to evaporate. I was so tired all the time. I was happy when he napped because I could too.

IMHO, put that exercise high on your priority list. Put the dishes low on it. Even taking a walk with the baby in a stroller or a snugli will help keep you in tune.

Steph, I'll say that your post brought back memories. My "babies" are 26 and 20 now....wish I could get those play dates back. Take that time for you, because it IS true, if mom isn't happy then no one is. Take time to walk with you, talk with friends, enjoy your time. Children grow up so very quickly, and we miss most of it being concerned about those things that really in the end don't matter...they know when we are unhappy with ourselves, and they react to that.

Good luck, my friend. Mommyhood isn't for wimps!

Steph,
I encourage you to get out with friends, or do something for you. Having a baby is wonderful, but you need Steph time! And, believe me, get showers, naps, exercise now, while the baby is still in sleeping stage. My sister adopted a baby from Guatamala. He is now 2 1/2. She has to get a shower and exercise before he wakes up. Don't let that freak you out. Just plan to nap, shower, exercise around the baby's schedule. When Morgan was a baby, I slept when she did, exercised during her afternoon nap, and found friends who had babies of similar age to have "play dates" with. "Play dates" were usually the babies sleeping, friend talking. I also had great friends who would babysit while I went shopping, to the grocery store, etc. You've GOT to make time for you! Babies can be draining, but also a joy. Find some Steph time, while still enjoying that little baby!

Hang in there Steph!

It sounds like you have all good plans. Make a food plan. Make a gym appt. Schedule some play dates (for you and other moms... baby probably doesn't care about playing with other babies, yet.)

Mostly hang in there! Mostly your post brought back so many memories! (Your baby lets you eat???? Wow! Can you shower yet? Play dates at the park are good... in case the baby doesn't let you take a shower. Smiler)
