PS... I'm often hungrier for a few days after vacations or holidays. My body likes over eating... it doesn't want to stop . So for 2-3 days after getting back to "normal", I'm hungry... but it goes away after a couple days.
But it looks like in your case you are probably hungry from undereating for a few days.
Doesn't look like you are eating too much food, Cate... but like others have pointed out... a little lite in the fiber, whole grains, fruits, vegs...
And skipping breakfast... not good. Slows your metabolism...This message has been edited. Last edited by: GoingSkiing,

yeah, I've been somewhat light on the fruits and veggies recently.
My eating basically got really really light over the holidays, because there was a lot going on, but not a lot at various events that I could eat, so by the time I got home I'd be wiped and not eating.
I've been having trouble with breakfast recently. I get up to go to morning Mass, but don't always manage to eat until much later. (I'll be up at 5:30/6:00 am for Mass at 7:30, but then afterwards have coffee and chat till usually 9:30, 10:30/11 if its Tuesday)
Cate, I think that if you're really truly hungry you should eat. Just eat healthy stuff. Other than the half apple and some tomato in the soup, you look a little light on veggies. Could you eat a salad or some carrots/celery/snow peas with some dip? I love carrots with hummus.
Maybe a salad with tuna or chicken?

Have a drink of water and do something. If in 20 minutes you are still ravenous --- remember key word ravenous, then eat something healthy and a small portion. Are you eating 6 smaller meals every three hours? Did you eat more or different things over the holidays? If I make 6 smaller meals over three hours, I am not as hungry as if I wait for my three squares. AND if I have allowed myself freedom to over eat and over portion unhealthy foods for a period of even just a couple of days I will kick by body into the old routines .... and then it's the cold turkey again. I find it amazing how our bodies just go back to the old habits and adapt so quickly to them.
It's never too late to get it right.

I don't think its a bad thing that I'm hungry, my eating got rather weirded out last month with the parties and social stuff and work...
Its just odd. So far today I've had:
half an apple with cashew butter, a serving of mochi with cream cheese, a few dates, handful of walnuts, slice of duck, grilled cheese sammy and tomato soup. And a few cups of coffee...about to have another...
Cate, Try some water and a quick walk or something to distract you. If you're still hungry in 10-20 minutes then I would go ahead and eat something. Make sure it is something either high fiber and or something with protein to keep you full. Good luck!! Jill
I have no specific goal(s) right now. I am trying to find the spiritual side of myself that I lost somewhere along the way.
Wow, Cate, it doesn't sound like your new year is off to a very good start. Can you go for a walk or pop in an exercise video? Tell yourself you'll exercise for 20 minutes before you eat anything. Then if you're still hungry, have a healthy snack. Hang in there!
